Johnny Depp has made it clear in his recent social media post that he might harbor some ill feelings for Elon Musk. While he did not address the Tesla founder directly, he shared he has no account on X, a platform owned by Musk. It was alleged that Musk and Heard had a secret relationship and the allegation was explored during the Depp v Heard trial in 2022.

Streaming platform Disney+ Latin America has snagged distribution rights to Chilean boxing pic “Dancing in the Ring,” penned by Oscar-winning screenwriter Gonzalo Maza (“A Fantastic Woman”) alongside Rodrigo Gijón (“Infieles”).

“We see the potential of this compelling story and believe it has the power to make a profound impact on the region. Singer/songwriter Lady Gaga didn’t have anything to do with the first season of the hit Netflix Addams Family series Wednesday, but when video clips of Jenna Ortega’s “Goo Goo Muck” dance scene went viral, many fans replaced The Cramps’ song “Goo Goo Muck” with a sped-up version of Lady Gaga’s song “Bloody Mary.” So Wednesday and Lady Gaga have been connected for a while now – and that connection is going to be deepened with the now-in-production season 2, as Deadline reports that Lady Gaga has been added to the cast of the show! Details on the character she’ll be playing have not been revealed.

Not many billionaires are like Elon Musk, except maybe Tony Stark/Iron Man, but then he’s fictional. The multi-billionaire has often drawn comparisons with the popular Marvel character for a long time and has even attempted to cosplay him in real life a few times. Fyi, he even had a brief cameo on ‘Iron Man 2.’
Now the man who played the iconic Iron Man character has some few words for him that anyone can easily interpret as “grow up.”
Robert Downey Jr. Expresses Disappointment Over Elon Musk’s Behavior
Maybe this isn’t even a political thing – Elon Musk has made it clear he’s mightily team Republican – but Robert Downey Jr. isn’t amused by Musk’s eccentric billionaire behavior anymore.
These days, any little time you find Musk not being political or trying to be funny, you’ll find him promoting his ultra-futuristic brands Tesla and SpaceX.

They connected romantically years later after Heard’s split from Johnny Depp, managing to find time for each other amid their busy careers. Despite their bond, what led the couple to part ways?

Aaron Kaufman, the Emmy-nominated director behind Superpower, Sean Penn’s Paramount+ documentary about the Ukraine-Russia war, has died at the age of 51.
Deadline confirmed the news with Chad Verdi of Verdi Productions, who financed and executive produced some of Kaufman’s previous and upcoming projects, including Superpower. He died in Las Vegas of an apparent heart attack on Thursday.
Kaufman is perhaps best known for co-helming Superpower alongside Penn, and the effort translated into a News & Documentary Emmy nod in the Outstanding Politics and Government Documentary category. What began as an aim to track Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s rise from popular comedian-actor to a prominent political leader transitioned to a war doc in the aftermath of Russia’s campaign launched in 2022, when Kaufman was on the ground as a filmmaker.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Joker: Folie Deux.
The ending of Joker: Folie Deux continues a surprising and unusual trend that has already been seen in Lady Gaga's two previous major feature film appearances. Lady Gaga was cast in the sequel to Todd Phillips' 2019 smash-hit, Joker, set outside the mainstream DC Universe, in August 2022, revealed to be bringing DC Comics' Harley Quinn to life opposite Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Fleck, a.k.a. Joker. While Joker: Folie Deux has received some criticism, Lady Gaga's performance as Lee Quinzel has been widely praised, adding another entry into her strong filmography.
Lady Gaga is one of the world's most beloved and best-selling music artists, and she has proven her versatility time and again, which has translated brilliantly into her on-screen acting roles. Aside from small appearances in Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Gaga began to...

Arthur Fleck will return in Joker: Folie Deux, and he will bring with him a whole new ensemble. Todd Phillips's 2019 movie Joker became one of 2019's biggest movies, earning over $1 billion worldwide, with Phoenix's performance as Fleck being particularly well-received. It's certainly a non-traditional DC movie with its lack of superheroes, but it clearly struck a chord with audiences.
Joker tells the tale of professional clown-for-hire Arthur Fleck snapping and inspiring an uprising of Gotham City's downtrodden against the city's elite. Joker: Folie Deux is a stronger film than its predecessor, with a story that takes significant swings throughout. With characters like Harley Quinn and Harvey Dent appearing in Joker: Folie Deux, there is more to latch onto in this sequel, as it is full of fantastic actors and characters.

When it comes to meta experiments that blur those good ole lines between fiction and the filmmakers’ own non-fiction life stories, there’s a risk that the resulting feature can border on being impenetrable if audiences aren’t fed a load of exposition in advance. That’s far less of an issue for classically-told narratives from mega-famous artists delving into (semi)autobiography (like Steven Spielberg with “The Fabelmans”), but definitely so for smaller scale projects from independent filmmakers whose output is more peculiar. What can be a compelling behind-the-scenes story as described in a press kit may not necessarily translate into the finished feature as something engaging, or even coherent, to anyone coming to the work without the luxury of reading production notes before the screening.

Machete may not text but he do sequel. Director Robert Rodriguez has addressed claims by Machete himself, Danny Trejo, who said that he doubts Rodriguez even has the rights to make the threequel Machete Kills in Space.
First, some context. Trejo recently told Rob Zombie in Interview that he was under the impression that Rodriguez had sold the rights to Machete “to Russians or something,” thus halting the project permanently.
But Rodriguez quickly rebuked this, telling IndieWire that his old pal isn’t exactly up to date on his info. “I retain all the rights…We do plan to make another one, we just stopped saying that we are until we’re actually making it because of all the stories that come out saying, ‘They’re making it right now, they’re making it right now!’” With that, Rodriguez noted the connection he has to Machete, something no doubt shared by fans.

Turns out, Danny Trejo actually might be wielding a machete soon, as the eponymous franchise is still on track to be a trilogy. During a recent discussion with Rob Zombie for Interview magazine, the almost-80-year-old actor Trejo incorrectly stated that “Machete” and “Machete Kills” director Robert Rodriguez “sold part” of the franchise, and therefore it’s unlikely another will be made.
“God, I guess Robert [Rodriguez] screwed up and sold part of ‘Machete,'” Trejo said, “to Russians or something. Everyone always asks, ‘When are you doing “Machete Kills in Space?”‘” Director Zombie added that he’d love to see “Machete Kills in Space,” saying, “I thought for sure it was going to happen. It’s so ridiculous.”
However, Rodriguez exclusively told IndieWire that Trejo’s comments are thankfully “incorrect” and a third “Machete” film may still slice up cinemas soon.
“I retain all the rights,” Rodriguez told IndieWire in an email.

Curb Your Enthusiasm returns to Max this month in what’s being called the show’s final season (for now). If you’re not ready for the Larry David-centric comedy series to end, you can binge all eleven of the show’s previous seasons on Max right now before hitting the new episodes.
Tokyo Vice will also be back in February for season 2. In 2005 and in 2007, director Tim Story made a pair of feature films starring the Fantastic Four, one of Marvel Comics' most superlative titles. "Fantastic Four," created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, was more or less a family sitcom except the three family members and their best friend all happened to have superpowers. It was light and comedic, while also featuring bloviating, demonstrative supervillains who shouted regularly about the glories of world domination. It was a comic book series that declared itself to be The World's Greatest Comics Magazine!
Story's feature film adaptations were not very well received when they were released. 2005's "Fantastic Four" only bears a 28% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while its sequel, "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," only has a 38% approval rating. Moreso, Marvel Comics fans were harsh to Story's movies, hating their cartoony tone and corny scripts. It's worth acknowledging, however, that Story's...

Eli Roth will be giving thanks once more (in the bloodiest terms possible) as Thanksgiving 2, a sequel to his holiday-themed slasher, is announced.
Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving has been doing pretty well at the box office, picking up $30m. Perhaps most impressively, it only dropped 31 percent in its second weekend, which is a pretty shallow fall in admissions for a horror movie.
Perhaps that’s because that second weekend fell across Thanksgiving, the US holiday that the slasher film is focused on. It might be that reviews have been decent as well (here’s ours) but either way, TriStar Pictures seems pleased enough, as Deadline reports that a sequel to Thanksgiving has now been confirmed.
In the film currently showing in cinemas, ‘a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorises Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the holiday.’

Grindhouse is one of the most influential box office failures of the 21st century. Despite grossing a paltry $25.4 million at the box office on a budget of around $60 million, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s 2007 love letter to exploitation cinema has managed to spawn four spin-off movies — Machete, Machete Kills, Hobo with a Shotgun, and now Thanksgiving— in addition to reintroducing a vintage aesthetic that has been mimicked by countless other throwback movies.
Rodriguez’s Planet Terror and Tarantino’s Death Proof each have their merits — the former plays like a satirical pastiche of nonstop action, while the latter is more indicative of genuine exploitation fare — but Grindhouse is more than just a double feature. It’s an experience, complete with faux aging to recreate the look of beat-up film prints along with vintage interstitials and retro-inspired trailers for nonexistent movies.

Warning: Spoilers for Spy Kids: Armageddon!Spy Kids: Armageddon has released on Netflix, but does series regular Danny Trejo return as Machete? The 2023 Netflix movie is the first film in the Spy Kids franchise in 12 years since 2011's Spy Kids: All the Time in the World, and as a result, the release focuses on a completely different family and a new pair of mischievous but genius spy kids. However, that leads to confusion over whether or not any of the original characters are returning, as Spy Kids: Armageddon is technically still in the same cinematic universe as the previous four movies.
Unfortunately, original Spy Kids actors Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara are absent from the Spy Kids: Armageddon cast, and Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, and Alan Cumming are all lacking even small cameo roles in the new film. However, Danny Trejo's Machete had the best chance of returning, as Trejo...

Eli Roth's new slasher film Thanksgiving pays homage to holiday-themed horror movies and centers around a serial killer's killing spree during the holidays. Thanksgiving is based on a fake trailer made by Eli Roth for the 2007 film Grindhouse, and it's part of a tradition of adapting these trailers into feature films. Roth has been wanting to make Thanksgiving into a full movie for 16 years, but other projects and bigger-budget opportunities came in the way until now.
Eli Roth’s new holiday-themed slasher movie, Thanksgiving, pays off a tease from a Quentin Tarantino movie that came out 16 years ago. Thanksgiving is an homage to holiday-themed slasher movies like Halloween, Black Christmas, and My Bloody Valentine. It revolves around the killing spree of serial killer John Carver, who comes to a small town in Massachusetts for the holidays with the intention of making his Thanksgiving meal out of the town’s residents.

Danny Trejo has filed for Chapter 11 reorganization bankruptcy to pay off more than $2 million he owes to the IRS.
The actor and entrepreneur, 79, best known for his roles in “Machete Kills”, “Heat” and “Desperado”, filed back in February, according to ABC7.
His string of successful businesses, including Trejos Tacos and Trejos Coffee and Donuts, are reportedly not a part of the bankruptcy. The root of his enormous debt to the IRS is allegedly from mistakenly claiming deductions over the years.

The bankruptcy is so severe that according to documents obtained by RadarOnline, Barclays Mortgage Trust is asking the court permission to foreclose his home in Mission’s Hill, California.
The news comes after he recently announced the launch of his new non-alcoholic tequila brand, Zero Proof Tequila.

Lionsgate has nabbed global distribution for “Flight Risk,” an action-thriller starring Mark Wahlberg and directed by Mel Gibson. This will mark the first film Gibson has directed since his blockbuster ($175 million on a $40 million budget) and Oscar-nominated “Hacksaw Ridge” in 2016. The mini-major will be launching the project, featuring Wahlberg as a pilot transporting a dangerous criminal for trial, at Cannes.
“We love the undeniable electric pairing of Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg,” Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Joe Drake said. “These world-class talents combining for this dynamic, character-driven film will make ‘Flight Risk’ one of the most suspense-filled, must-see events of the year.”
Wahlberg and Gibson have starred in a few projects together, including “Daddy’s Home 2” and last year’s faith-based “Father Stu.” Considering the number of high-concept or true-story action movies Wahlberg has made with director Peter Berg over the last decade, it is a mild surprise that Gibson will be in charge.

Saw star Tobin Bell teams with Machete’s Danny Trejo in the trailer for the slasher movie The Curse of Wolf Mountain. Bell debuted as famed horror villain Jigsaw way back in 2004’s original torture porn classic Saw, going on to reprise the role seven times, with an eighth appearance set to happen later this year in Saw X. Trejo in the meantime has become an overall genre movie icon thanks to decades of roles in fare ranging from Desperado to Anaconda to Con Air to, of course, 2010’s grind house tribute Machete and its sequel Machete Kills.
Despite both having been around for so many years, Saw X star Bell and Machete icon Trejo had surprisingly never appeared together in a movie, but now that has been remedied thanks to the low-budget slasher The Curse of Wolf Mountain, which just dropped a new trailer (via IGN).

2021's House of Gucci cast guide contains plenty of recognizable modern actors playing real-world fashion powerhouses, and it's remarkable how they compare to the real-life people they portray in the film. The story of Maurizio Gucci’s murder in 1995 made headlines and drew a lot of public attention following the arrest and conviction of Patrizia Reggiani for arranging the assassination. House of Gucci isn’t solely focused on the death of Maurizio, who rose to prominence when he took over as chairman of his family’s luxurious fashion design business.
Directed by Ridley Scott from a screenplay by Roberto Bentivegna and Becky Johnston, House of Gucci follows Patrizia as she marries into the wealthy family in 1972 and the years thereafter that document her relationship with Maurizio, his family, and the orchestration of his death two decades later — all based on the 2001 book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder,...

After four successful movies starring one of Hollywood’s most universally adored leading men, the “John Wick” franchise is heading to TV with a far more controversial star. “The Continental,” a three-part miniseries set in the “John Wick” universe and starring Mel Gibson, will release on Peacock this September, the streamer announced Wednesday. A short teaser for the show was also released, which can be watched below.
Named after its central hero, the “John Wick” franchise revolves around a complex criminal underworld populated by colorful and deadly assassins. In the film’s universe, all assassins abide by a code in which the Continental hotel chain serves as a neutral ground for all factions. “The Continental” show is a ’70s-set prequel that tells the story of how the the Continental system was established, from the viewpoint of Winston Scott (played in the films by Ian McShane), the eventual New York City Continental owner.

This Thanksgiving, it's not just turkeys that'll be getting carved up. Horror director Eli Roth is set to follow in the footsteps of "Machete Kills" filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and "Hobo With A Shotgun" director Jason Eisener, turning the fake movie trailer he made for Rodriguez's 2007 film "Grindhouse" into a real, feature-length movie. "Thanksgiving" is now set to strut its way to theaters in time for the colonialist feast day.
While Roth has yet to drop a trailer or first footage from the movie, fans of the filmmaker probably have a good idea of what to expect from the feature-length expansion of a delightfully nasty short that left audiences laughing (and flinching) back when Rodriguez's "Grindhouse" made its debut. It's too soon to tell how much "Thanksgiving" will borrow from its source material, but as the first fiction feature co-written, directed, and produced by the "Hostel" filmmaker since 2015's Keanu Reeves-led erotic thriller,...

The path to Robert Rodriguez's "Machete" was circuitous. When Rodriguez and his friend Quentin Tarantino made their 2007 film "Grindhouse," they attempted to recreate a 1970s exploitation movie experience by providing two separate features, each one marked by missing reels, bad print jobs, and visual scratches on the print itself. "Grindhouse" also famous featured a series of previews for coming attractions that didn't exist. Edgar Wright invented a film called "Don't," while Eli Roth invented a fictional slasher movie called "Thanksgiving." Rob Zombie conceived of a horror movie called "Werewolf Women of the S.S." starring Nicolas Cage, and Rodriguez himself kicked off the "Grindhouse" experience with a fake movie called "Machete."
In the fake "Machete" preview, Danny Trejo played the title character, a vengeful Mexican mercenary, once a Federale, who gets into a series of seemingly unconnected violent shenanigans. He was also quite proficient at charming young women. Machete...

After intense audience demand over the years, Robert Rodriguez addresses the possibility of a Machete in Space movie. Played by Danny Trejo, the character of Machete debuted in the Spy Kids franchise and returned in a fake trailer within Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's 2007 Grindhouse double-feature. Due to fan demand, Rodriguez expanded the fake trailer into an actual film, Machete, which was released in 2010 and followed by a sequel, Machete Kills, in 2013. Sixteen years ago, directors Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino teamed up to bring us the awesome double feature Grindhouse – which consisted of not just Rodriguez’s movie Planet Terror and Tarantino’s movie Death Proof, but also several faux trailers made by the likes of Eli Roth, Edgar Wright, Rob Zombie, and Rodriguez himself. Roth’s faux trailer was for the slasher Thanksgiving, which is finally happening as a full feature. Rodriguez’s faux trailer was for the action movie Machete, which became a feature in 2010, and did well enough that a sequel titled Machete Kills followed in 2013. And since that faux trailer promised our hero Machete would return, fans have been clamoring for that sequel to happen for ten years now. You'd think Halloween would be the holiday that the lion's share of holiday-themed horror movies would center around. But that would have to be Christmas, which has inspired the likes of classics such as "Black Christmas," "Silent Night, Deadly Night," "Gremlins," "The Nightmare Before Christmas," the incredible "Tales From The Crypt" segment "And All Through The House," and so many more.
Maybe it's because Christmas is supposed to represent the pinnacle of goodness and charity that mucking it all up with blood, guts, and terror is just too perverse to resist. But of all the other holidays on the calendar, Thanksgiving gets my vote for the most untapped potential, horror-wise. Pilgrims? Unseasoned food? Family coming to my house? Wake me up when the nightmare is over.
While there has been a solid assortment of Thanksgiving-themed shockers over the years, from "Kristy" to "Séance" to the delightfully campy "Into The Dark" film "Pilgrim,...

Patrick Dempsey is in talks with Spyglass to star in “Thanksgiving,” multiple media outlets have reported.
Yes, that’s Eli Roth’s “Thanksgiving,” a violent slasher film based on the fake trailer from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s double feature “Grindhouse” from 16 years ago.
Chatter has existed about turning the jokey trailer into an actual movie, with Roth having written a screenplay over a dozen years ago. Fantasy became fact when Spyglass stepped in late last year to finance the picture, with shooting to begin in Toronto next month.
While plot details are mostly concealed, it is believed that Dempsey would play a small-town sheriff in Massachusetts who must fend off a holiday-specific murder spree.

Tubi is getting into some witchy business with Vanessa Hudgens.
The platform has acquired the unscripted film, “Dead Hot,” a passion project from Hudgens that follows her and musician Gg Magree, as they embark on a journey to Salem, Mass., where they learn about witchcraft, ghost hunting and connecting with the spirit world.
“Dead Hot” hails from Bunim-Murray Productions and is distributed by Banijay Rights. The film will debut on April 14.
Hudgens and Magree are self-taught students of witchcraft and have been experimenting and connecting with the spirit world for much of their lives. But after a ghost hunt gone wrong, the duo realizes they need to seek out proper mentorship and training, so they head on a pilgrimage to Salem with cameras chronicling their journey for a masterclass in witchcraft.
The film is described as an “intimate journey into the supernatural realm that explores identity, feminine power and sisterhood.

The faux Grindhouse trailer Thanksgiving directed by Eli Roth is now getting an official feature adaptation. The 2007 project Grindhouse was a double feature of the retro exploitation-inspired films Death Proof and Planet Terror, directed by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. In between the two films, the presentation featured trailers for fictional 1970s-style films directed by the filmmakers' collaborators, including Edgar Wright ("Don't"), Rob Zombie ("Werewolf Women of the SS"), and the trio Jason Eisener, John Davies, and Rob Cotterill ("Hobo with a Shotgun").
Roth's contribution to the proceedings was the faux slasher movie Thanksgiving, inspired by the Christmas, New Year's, and Halloween-themed horror of the 1980s. Now, per Deadline, he is prepping a feature-length expansion of the short, a decade and a half after its original premiere. Roth and Roger Birnbaum are producing the film with Spyglass, with an eye on beginning production this March. The screenplay was written by Jeff Rendell,...

When Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez teamed up for the hybrid horror crime film "From Dusk Till Dawn," audiences knew to expect a sleazy drive-in movie that was going to be filled to the brim with sight gags, bloodstained carnage, and whip-smart dialogue. The vampire action comedy featured television star George Clooney in his first major role after breaking hearts as Dr. Ross on NBC's smash-hit hospital drama "ER." Seeing Clooney playing against type as a maniacal bad boy must have appealed to the mainstream, and the cinematic clout earned from the new indie classics "Pulp Fiction" and "Desperado" translated into an unlikely hit when "Dawn" staked its way into theaters in January of 1996.
With that success under their belts, Tarantino and Rodriguez had every right to think that the regular moviegoing public knew what a grindhouse theater was, and that they were familiar with 1970s exploitation films. "From Dusk Till Dawn...
