The best Mckenna Grace movies and TV shows feature the young star playing both young versions of popular characters in TV shows and her eventual rise as a star in her own right on TV and in movies. Grace got her start acting in 2012 when she was only six. She had early appearances in Crash & Bernstein and The Goodwin Games before she got her biggest break as Faith Newman in the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless.
She then got some big movie roles as a child star in Gifted, I, Tonya, and The Bad Seed. She also had a lot of experience playing younger versions of characters in flashbacks, playing the young Emma Swan in Once Upon a Time, young Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel, and young Madison Lake in Malignant. However, Grace finally enjoyed her breakout in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and on TV in The Handmaid’s Tale.

Singer Sabrina Carpenter was seen out on a date with Irish actor Barry Keoghan just a week after her music video led to a scandal in the Catholic Church.
The Diocese of Brooklyn was horrified at the music video Carpenter filmed in a 160-year-old Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Released in time for Halloween, the bloody music video to the single “Feather” was directed by Mia Barnes and begins with interior shots of the 19th-century Catholic Church. Through the song, the camera follows Carpenter around as men harass her – and are met with instant karma.
As Carpenter sings lyrics like, “I feel so much lighter like a feather with you off my mind,” cat-callers are run over by a truck, gym bros fight each other to the death and a creepy photographer dies in an elevator shaft.
In the end, Carpenter dances around the church in a short black dress,...

You might not know her name, but you've seen her face. It's the face of a younger Brie Larson, a younger Kiernan Shipka and a younger Margot Robbie. That face is Mckenna Grace, a 12-year-old actress who has played all of them and more in film and TV. Grace got her start playing the younger version of Becki Newton's character in the short-lived The Goodwin Games and has racked up credits left and right since. The actress will next appear as Lil' Sabrina Spellman in Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina holiday special. Looking at the two below, you'd be forgiven if you assumed that was really a younger Shipka. In addition to playing the younger version of some of Hollywood's top actors,...

ABC is developing a comedy series based on Sara Saedi’s memoir “Americanized,” Variety has learned.
The single-camera series, which will be executive produced by Reese Witherspoon, tells the story of a loving and off-beat Iranian family who’s been living with a huge secret: they’re undocumented immigrants. It is described as a window into the life of a Middle-Eastern household while exploring the universal truths that bond every type of “American” family.
Saedi will pen the series in addition to executive producing. Witherspoon and Lauren Levy Neustadter will executive produce via Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine banner. ABC Studios will produce.
In addition to writing “Americanized,” Saedi has previously written for shows such as “iZombie” at The CW and “The Goodwin Games” at Fox. She is repped by Gersh, Nacelle Company, and Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal Laviolette Feldman Schenkman & Goodman.
This marks the first broadcast project Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine have set up.

Weird Loners is a tough sell, and though it could become a hit, it has a massive uphill battle in front of it. The main problem, ratings-wise, is that it has too much in common with all the shows that didn’t work for its stars in the past.
Of course, that’s only if you’re looking for ratings.
The shows in question, Zachary Knighton‘s Happy Endings, and Becki Newton‘s The Goodwin Games, were actually great shows, but Weird Loners has a tone, and general style of comedy, that is something of a cross between those shows, and that’s a ratings nightmare.
Worse, the pilot is somewhat nonsensical, having to put forward our establishing excuse that the four main characters get together. It has its moments, but it has to try so hard to force these people together, that it has little time to let them charm us.

Fox's comedy pilot "Weird Loners" has one of the standout titles of this development season, and its cast is shaping up to be pretty strong as well.
Becki Newton has signed on to play one of the title characters in the pilot, which comes from writer Michael Weithorn (creator of "The King of Queens") and director Jake Kasdan ("New Girl," "Freaks and Geeks"). It's about four social misfits who form a bond with one another via living in the same townhouse in Queens.
Newton's character, Caryn, is a "high-strung" dental hygienist with a tendency to go all-in on relationships way too quickly. Her co-stars thus far are "Happy Endings" alum Zachary Knighton and Nate Torrence ("Hello Ladies," "Super Fun Night"); the fourth member of the core group has yet to be cast.

Jake Lacy has joined the cast of Todd Haynes's Carol.
The Office actor will star opposite Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara in the upcoming adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's novel The Price of Salt.
I'm Not There filmmaker Haynes will direct the 1950s-set project, which focuses on a young woman (Mara) in New York who finds herself obsessed with another woman (Blanchett) after meeting in a store.
Lacy will play Mara's character's boyfriend Richard in the film.
The Price of Salt was originally published back in 1952 under Highsmith's pseudonym. It was notorious at the time due to its lesbian storyline that moved away from stereotypical homosexual characters.
Jake Lacy recently starred in the comedy film Obvious Child, while he also featured in the pilot of Fox sitcom The Goodwin Games, before being replaced by Tj Miller.

It centers on a consummate optimist (Carmichael) who is eager to take on the world, but is too busy taking on everyone and everything in his small corner of it. Mike Pennie and Ravi Nandan executive produce. Filming is eyed to begin next week. Carmichael, who had an arc on Fox’s The Goodwin Games, is with CAA, Mosaic and Zifren.

Here’s why CBS ultimately rejected the high-concept comedy Super Clyde, according to EW’s own James Hibberd: It “was deemed off-brand for the network and the net’s other comedies came in strong. Plus, successful comedy blocks are about creating flow, and there was also nothing compatible that CBS had to pair it with.”
That reasoning is understandable, if disappointing for fans of ex-Harry Potter star Rupert Grint. But after watching the pilot for Super Clyde — available now on CBS.com — I can’t help but wish I had a time-turner, which I’d use to travel back and...

On Angel, Vincent Kartheiser might not have had the most idyllic educational experience, but the grown-up Mad Men makes up for that as a Bmoc on High School USA!, part of Fox’s new Animation Domination High-Def block premiering this Saturday at 11/10c.
Created by Community‘s Dino Stamatopoulos and revolving around a class of millennial students as they confront the challenges of growing up in a modern world, High School USA! finds Kartheiser voicing Marsh Merriweather, whom the actor describes in this behind-the-scenes video as “the optimistic leader of the gang,” someone who is “always trying to make people happy.

Fast National ratings for Monday, July 1, 2013
Episode 2 of "Under the Dome" fell some from last week's premiere, but it held up pretty well and was far and away Monday's top show in both viewers and adults 18-49.
Also Monday, "American Ninja Warrior" was down from its premiere last year but posted decent numbers for NBC, growing in each half hour. "The Bachelorette" was down a little for ABC, but "Mistresses" rose slightly to finish second at 10 o'clock, edging the premiere of NBC's "Siberia."
Thanks to "Under the Dome," CBS led the total-viewer race with 7.1 million and a 4.6 rating/8 share in households. ABC (5.5 million, 3.9/6) came in second, beating out NBC's 4.35 million viewers and 2.6/4. Fox (1.6 million, 1.0/2) took fourth, and The CW (609,000, 0.4/1) finished last.
CBS also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 1.8 rating. ABC's 1.6 edged NBC's 1.5 for second place. Fox posted a 0.6 and The CW a 0.2.

Tonight marks the finale of The Goodwin Games, Fox's most recent sitcom. Has it been a ratings success? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
The Goodwin Games follows three estranged siblings -- an overachieving surgeon (Scott Foley), a struggling actress (Becki Newton); and a career petty criminal (T.J. Miller). They return home for their father's funeral and are informed that their father's will awards them $23 million but only if they agree to compete in a series of games that end up bringing them closer as a family. The cast also includes Kat Foster, Melissa Tang, and Beau Bridges.
The sitcom was initially supposed to air last fall but Fox decided to save it for mid-season. Then, in November, the network cut Goodwin Games' episode order (from 13 to just seven installments). They then opted to hold the premiere until...

On the surface, The Goodwin Games seems to exemplify an increasingly common small screen trend: Disappointment Television, a.k.a. pedigreed, mega-hyped series that build impossibly high expectations and end up landing more with a whimper than a bang. (See also: Smash, The Newsroom, and, to some extent, Arrested Development’s fourth season.)
Like its brethren, Goodwin was conceived and created by a big-name team — in this case, How I Met Your Mother’s Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. Like the others, it features a cast of talented ringers, including Scott Foley, Beau Bridges, and most of all Becki Newton,...

Soon, there will be more than 24 seconds of the Arrested Development song, “Getaway.” TV Guide reports that there’s an Arrested Development soundtrack that’s sending Gabriel Mann back to the studio (yes, that Gabriel Mann from Revenge, he’s the singing voice of Mark Cherry) to co-write and perform a full-length version of the song. Fast National ratings for Monday, June 24, 2013
CBS packed a lot of people "Under the Dome" Monday, as the premiere of the series based on Stephen King's novel opened to more viewers than any summer series since 2007.
It was big enough, to give CBS a win in viewers for the night, but the adults 18-49 honors go to NBC thanks to Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals, which saw the Chicago Blackhawks win the Cup. "The Bachelorette" also rose for ABC, hitting a season high in viewers and matching its best performance in the 18-49 demographic.
CBS drew 8.2 million viewers and a 5.2 rating/9 share in households in primetime. NBC (7.9 million, 4.6/7) finished a close second, pending updates for the live hockey telecast. ABC (5.3 million, 3.8/6) came in third. Fox was a fairly distant fourth with 1.7 million viewers and a 1.1/2. The CW (690,000, 0.4/1) trailed.

In sad news, Family Ties creator and Spin City co-creator Gary David Goldberg died two days shy of his 69th birthday. Our best wishes to his loved ones in this tough time. I’d like to think Ubu is performing tricks for him, now.
In an interview with Hitfix‘s Alan Sepinwall, Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner explained the rationale behind Bob Benson, “we really wanted to show that Pete has everything, and this underling who is Don Draper-like — except for the fact that he admires Pete, wants everything Pete has and loves Pete — everything about him… We wanted it to be that this man is doing everything right, his success is not based on merit in some way, but it’s not like he’s offensive. For Pete to realize what he was losing, and this man would ascend, because he knew what he was doing.”

Fast National ratings for Monday, June 17, 2013
The final performances of "The Voice" this season gave NBC a ratings win Monday night, per usual. The show improved some on its numbers from a week ago, also helping a second preview of "The Winner Is" grow a little bit. ABC's lineup, however, went the other direction as both "The Bachelorette" and "Mistresses" were down from last week.
NBC drew 10.5 million viewers and a 6.4 rating/11 share in households in primetime, more than doubling the viewer total for second-place ABC (4.9 million, 3.4/6). CBS (4.1 million, 2.8/5) came in third. Fox took fourth with 1.5 million viewers and a 0.9/1. The CW (640,000, 0.4/1) trailed.
NBC's 3.0 rating among adults 18-49 was far and away the night's best. ABC (1.5) was the only other network to get above a 1.0 rating. CBS posted a 0.9, Fox a 0.6 and The CW a 0.2.
Monday hour by hour:
8 p.m.
NBC: "The Voice" (11.5 million viewers, 7.1/12 households)

Last night’s performance finale of The Voice drew a 3.5/10 among adults 18-49 and 12.3 million viewers overall to secure another No. 1 Monday finish for NBC. Compared with last week’s fast national, the show rose 9% in 18-49 (6% from the final as the show is often adjusted up). But versus last season’s penultimate episode, The Voice was down 9%. The Voice also lifted its lead-out, new game show/singing competition The Winner Is (2.0/6), which was up a tenth from last week’s fast national (0.2 from the final, but it may be adjusted down again later today.) Things took a downturn at ABC, with The Bachelorette (1.6/5) off by a tenth from last week’s fast national (0.2 from the final) to a cycle low. After a nice double-digit second-week bump last Monday, new drama Mistresses (1.2/3) gave back the gains, down 14% to the levels of the premiere, which posted an encouraging rise in Live...

Turns out, some Mad Men viewers guessed right about Bob Benson‘s secret. Too bad they aren’t the ones who picked “Peggy and Pete‘s time-traveler love child, Paul Paulson.” (I hope you weren’t spoiled by the revelation that Mad Men wasn’t taking on time travel.)
I like to think Dillahunt‘s Burn Notice character is still angry
about The Book Of Daniel getting cancelled.
I guess Garret Dillahunt was tired of being sweet and lovable but dim on Raising Hope because EW reports are that he’s returning to Burn Notice.
Lifetime’s Lizzie Borden movie just got more interesting now that the cast has added Billy Campbell and Clea Duvall. Campbell will play Lizzie’s lawyer, while Duvall will play her sister.

It’s a good time to be Scott Foley, which is a rather pointless statement to make considering there’s never a bad time to be Scott Foley. The actor has been known to melt hearts with a simple glance from his captivating amber eyes – my heart included – and has no intent to stop now. All we can do now is prepare ourselves and hope he doesn’t spend too much time on our televisions lest we succumb to his tempting gaze. Unfortunately for watchers of Scandal, they’ll be getting nothing but more Foley as the show goes into its third season. It’s a blessing and a curse.
As reported by THR, Foley has been upgraded from recurring status to series regular for Season 3 and he his beyond thrilled. He considers creator Shonda Rhimes and all involved with the series as incredibly talented, enthusiastic and professional. He also...

The last image of Scott Foley on "Scandal" this season was of his character, Jake Ballard, being thrown into an underground cell for defying the orders of the mysterious spy organization B613. That will not, however, be the last we see of him.
Foley has been promoted to a series regular on the ABC drama, which will begin its third season in the fall. It's his second show with creator Shonda Rhimes -- he previously recurred on "Grey's Anatomy."
"I'm thrilled to join such a talented, enthusiastic and professional group of people," Foley says in a statement. "Shonda and company have created a troupe of layered complex characters, and to be able to be part of that is both exciting and humbling."
Foley joined "Scandal" for the show's second story arc of Season 2, playing a military intelligence officer who romanced Olivia (Kerry Washington) while spying on her at the behest...

Spoiler Alert! Jake Ballard probably won’t rot in that hole for long. Scott Foley, who recurred as romantic foil Jake on Shonda Rhimes’ Scandal this season, has closed a deal to join the hot ABC drama as a regular for its upcoming third season. “I’m thrilled to join such a talented, enthusiastic and professional group of people,” Foley said. “Shonda and company have created a troupe of layered complex characters and to be able to be part of that is both exciting and humbling.” The explosive Season 2 finale saw black op gun-for-hire Jake thrown into a hole into the ground after saving Olivia (Kerry Washington) from an assassin. Foley, repped by ICM Partners, had an option to become a regular after joining Scandal as a recurring last season but couldn’t sign on because he was a regular on another show, Fox’s comedy The Goodwin Games. Today...

Exclusive: It’s a family affair. Scott Foley and brother-in-law Patrick Wilson are teaming up to produce Ward’s Wife starring former Scrubs star Donald Faison. The Scandal and The Goodwin Games actor’s feature directorial debut will also be produced by Mob Doctor actor James Carpinello, Marcus Chait and Joe Hardesty for their Lost Rhino banner. As the title suggests, the dark comedy focuses on Ward (Faison) a man who has just had enough of being emotionally and verbally beaten down by his spouse and decides to kill her to free himself. Written by the Felicity alum, Ward’s Wife also stars Foley’s real life spouse Marika Dominczyk as Ward’s wife. Nicollette Sheridan will also be starring in Ward’s Wife. This is Sheridan’s first film role since her wrongful termination suit against ABC and Desperate Housewives ended in a mistrial on March 2012. Foley, Insidious’ Wilson,...
