Exclusive: Cast has been set on Finding Forever, a UK romantic-comedy from writer-director Clare Anyiam-Osigwe.
Arnold Oceng (The Good Lie), Vanessa Donovan (The Truth) Tim Reid (Swagger) Brandi Harvey and Femi Oyeniran (The Intent 2: The Come Up) will lead the pic, which is set in a gospel church in London.
The story follows three best friends at different stages in their respective relationships: one is a serial dater (Oyeniran); another is in a fledgling marriage (Philips Nortey); and another is a bachelor (Oceng) newly engaged to Destiny (Donovan). Things take a turn as pressures from work and a nagging fiancée tip the groom over the edge.

Back in 2016, Femi Oyeniran and Nicky Slimting Walker’s The Intent become a surprising hit, none more surprising than the film’s own filmmakers. The underground hit burst onto the scene selling out all cinemas on its independent release, climbing to number 3 on the iTunes movie chart before eventually being sold to Netflix.
Fast forward 2 years and Femi and Nicky are back with the film’s follow-up. The prequel, The Intent 2: The Come Up reintroduces old characters and brings along a few new faces to go back to 1997 to follow the gang as their pasts and journey’s give us an insight into what made them into the callous gangsters we all came to know. Prequel to The Intent goes on holiday to the Caribbean for lots of slo-mo, shotgun-wielding action but forgets to pack a believable story
For those who missed it, The Intent (2016) was an independently produced late entry in the cycle of inner-city British crime dramas; its rough, grime-infused edges differentiated it from Noel Clarke’s upwardly mobile ’Hood series, but made for an unintentionally gruelling watch.
Money has now been found for a prequel, which proves a touch more polished – an offscreen partnership with Island Records carries the stick-up crew from the first film to Jamaica – but it still suffers from the same underlying flaws. Writer-performers Femi Oyeniran and Nicky “Slimting” Walker are far more interested in filming themselves wielding shotguns in fetishising slo-mo than they are in putting in the hard yards of character, or telling a coherent story.
