Japanese voice actor Yuichiro Umehara surprised fans this week by revealing he’s been married since 2016.

The news comes after Umehara, known for his roles in Goblin Slayer, The Misfit of Demon King Academy, Black Clover, among others, was seen earlier this month entering a cafe in Tokyo’s downtown area with a woman, who sources identified as his wife.

Following the public sighting, reporters approached Umehara, and he openly addressed the situation. The voice actor confirmed that he has been married for several years, having tied the knot in his mid-twenties. He explained that his wife is a college sweetheart and they’ve been together for a long time.

Prime Video has launched its first dedicated anime channel in India, Anime Times on Prime Video Channels. Focused on Japanese animation, Anime Times has been available on Prime Video Channels in Japan. It is being offered in India as an add-on annual fee of Inr 899 ($10.8).

Titles at launch include “Spy x Family,” “Hunter x Hunter,” “Fairy Tale Movie Houou No Miko,” “Tokyo Revengers,” “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead,” “Mob Psycho 100,” “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime,” “Goblin Slayer” and “Zombieland Saga.”

“Over the past few years, anime content has gained significant fandom in India,” said Vivek Srivastava, head – Prime Video Channels, Prime Video, India.

Webtoon Entertainment, part of Korean tech giant Naver’s Wattpad Webtoon Studios operations, has appointed David J. Lee as its new chief financial officer and COO, and promoted Kim Yongsoo to chief strategic officer.

Prime Video revealed on Dec 13, 2023 that Anime Times, a dedicated channel which focuses on streaming anime, has premiered exclusively on Prime Video Channels in India.

Anime Times will have an add-on subscription price just like other Prime Video Channels, and will be available for Prime members at an annual fee of ₹899 per year.

Anime Times is a company formed by 13 content rights holders including prominent Japanese publishers and anime studios like Avex Pictures, Kodansha, Shueisha, and Shogakukan. It initially debuted on Amazon Prime Japan in 2021, with the slogan “Anytime you want, enjoy your Anime time.”

There are numerous upcoming anime series that are highly anticipated and one Netflix series that will fill familiar to any Dungeons and Dragons player should be counted among them. Delicious in Dungeon is an adventure comedy that has provided fans with a trailer and general release window. However, it could be the exact thing that fans of Dungeons & Dragons need to have in their lives.

Based on the manga of the same name, Delicious in Dungeon follows a group of adventurers as they make their way through various dungeons. The manga was created by Ryoko Kui and began serializing in 2014. Thus far, the seinen series, published by Yen Press, spans twelve volumes. Its anime adaptation is being produced by Studio Trigger and is set to release in January 2024.

Go Nagai's iconic Grendizer is returning for a modern audience, with a fantastic look to go with its reboot. A new teaser trailer has dropped for Grendizer U, a reboot of the classic manga and anime mecha series from the 1970s. It developed as one of the many sequels and spin-offs from the hit anime, Mazinger, also from Go Nagai.

Manga Productions is the company developing the latest iteration of Grendizer. The manga series that inspired it, UFO Robo Grendizer, originally serialized from 1975 to 1977, was written by Go Nagai and included work from different illustrators. It was then adapted into an anime series that aired from 1975 to 1977. It made a manga comeback from 2014 to 2015, spanning two volumes, and titled Grendizer Giga.

The second season of the dark fantasy anime Goblin Slayer gets a release date along with a first trailer that promises even more bloodshed to come for the controversial series.

The official Twitter/X account of the Goblin Slayer anime has announced that the anticipated second season will be released in October 2023. A first trailer accompanies the announcement, showcasing more of the brutality and gore that has made the dark fantasy series so famous. Season 2 of Goblin Slayer sees a change in the production studio, as the series is now under the helm of Linden Films, which also produced Berserk, Tokyo Revengers, and Call of the Night.

While it was mislabeled in terms of content on Crunchyroll, the main character has captured attention for his blunt approach to adventuring and single-minded goal. Though Goblin Slayer's controversial opening can be very uncomfortable to watch, as well as easily hated villains, its return is highly anticipated.

Goblin Slayer began as a light novel series, written by Kumo Kagyu with art from Noboru Kannatsuki. First published in 2016, it is still going. It has since been adapted into a manga by Kosuke Kurose, as well as the anime adaptation which was released in 2018. A couple of years later, in 2020, the animated feature film, Goblin Slayer: Goblin's Crown was released, introducing a new scarred fighter to the titular hero and his party.

The trailer for the new anime Delicious in Dungeon from Studio Trigger has just been released, giving fans their first look at the food-themed fantasy series, as well as an official release date. Delicious in Dungeon is based on a manga series of the same name, which began its run in 2014 and is still ongoing. Trigger had previously produced a TV commercial for the series in 2019, so fans had hoped they would pick up the series for a full adaptation since then.

The anime adaptation was previously announced in August 2022, and that it would be created by Studio Trigger, a well-known animation studio in the world of anime responsible for a number of hits in the past decade, like Ssss.Gridman and Kill la Kill. Now, fans have a new trailer, along with the series' final release date: January 2024.

This popular supernatural comedy is a bestselling manga by AidaIro, which received an anime adaptation in January 2020. Yen Press is publishing the manga in English, with Volumes 0-18 currently available. Yen Press has released Toilet-bound Hanako-kun as digital volumes prior to their print editions, and through digital serial chapter releases, fans will be able to read more of this beloved series sooner and more frequently.
