If this isn't "the greatest" baseball movie, it's definitely a close runner up. I first saw this movie as it opened in theatres. When I came out of the theatre, I felt like I had just seen a Disney flick. It was a great feel good movie. I just purchased this movie and my wife saw it for the first time. She really enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. If by watching this movie, doesn't conjure up any emotions, your not human.
Even if I didn't know this was Don Bluth, this animation short is truly a classic. When I first heard of this feature, I had to get it. Only, I wish it were a full length movie. Banjo is a loveable character. Don Bluth sets the tone in great looking animation the way it used to be.
First of all, you should have a certain appreciation for the original bears to like the Country Bears Movie. I thought what made this movie good was mostly the music. It was great. I loved the duel with Brian Setzer and Zeb Zoober(one of the bears). It rocks. Second of all, sure, it may be considered a kids movie, but the cameos that are in the movie are most likely not going to be recognized by the average child. There's also some good one liners in there. I just bought the DVD and have seen it already about 3 times. There is also a Mockumentary of the Country Bears that is just a crackup. I just hope that if Disney makes a sequel, it won't suck. Overall, it was a rousing, footstopping good time.
