This movie is very watchable. I don't know why there's so much hatred for this movie. There are indeed wackos and stalkers in this world, those who enjoy intimidating women. And there are some people who are just obsessive and needy
Some people are lonely, very lonely and are looking for someone to love them. Some people are just crazy. I can relate to this movie. I met a guy in my work location that I would speak to whenever I saw him. We would laugh and joke a little bit. It was no big deal. At least not to me. Then one day he got on the elevator with me and said, why are you treating me like this? All that we mean to each other? I was puzzled.
I don't know why this movie was given such low ratings because it was the same, the very same scene for scene of the original movie. It even used the same music! The only difference was the acting was better in the original. Vince Vaughn did a good job as Norman Bates but nobody could play the part as well, and as creepy as Anthony Perkins. He is and always will be Norman Bates.
The TV show the Bates Motel was very good with Freddy Hightower, but they verved off the script with adding a brother and the brother selling drugs. They stretched it out to fill several seasons It was an excellent TV show but verved away from the original movie.

Much of the storyline was quite confusing such as while he was talking on the phone to other kidnapped kids. I fell asleep when a dog was barking then fell asleep. I woke up when the boy was choking the creepy villian. Was this supposed to smiliar to Nightmare on Elm Street?
