CODA, or Children of Deaf Adults, is a fantastic movie that follows a family of four. Three deaf and one hearing. While we can't see every life circumstance that leads to the moment in the film, we can gain a sense of just how difficult it can be living and working in a hearing world.
The entire film is done at such a high level yet it's simple. You've got a teenage daughter who doesn't want to be stuck interpreting for her family forever, you've got a father and brother who want to fish, but can't if they don't have a hearing person, and you've got a mother who doesn't want to let go.
The acting is definitely genuine since the three deaf characters are played by actual deaf actors. Then you have Emilia Jones who fits right in despite having to learn everything within months. They have great chemistry together and they feel like a natural family. Troy Kotsur is funny throughout, and Marlee Matlin takes some warming up to, but in the end they're enjoyable. Daniel Durant ties the family altogether by being the loving and hurtful brother, but still there for his little sis.
The best part of the film is that it grasps attention and emotions. Despite having to read subtitles they stay up long enough to also allow you time to take in the actors emotions. I didn't feel like I missed out on a whole lot of signs despite not knowing what they meant. The real gut punch comes when you're listening to a beautiful concert and you're pulled into the deaf world. For only a few minutes you sit there in silence experiencing what a deaf person experiences everyday. I don't think it's done to feel bad for them, but rather to allow you to think about accessibility issues that people in life go through everyday.
Overall, this was a funny movie that I also cried a lot through because it was emotionally driven and it has an actual story to tell. Great, genuine acting because they went with actors who deal these issues on a daily basis.
That's it for now. Thanks for taking time to read my review. Happy watching and enjoy the show!

7.4/10 (Definitely Recommend)
I never went back to rewatch the first two films, but that didn't stop me from having fun and enjoy this one. It's entertaining, funny, and visually appealing. It's got a good story with an enjoyable cast that tells that story. They mesh well together, but my biases against Jim Carrey preclude me from being able to say 'stellar' cast.
Now, you could go into this film without having done a rewatch, but if you're like me and you haven't watched the first two films for some time, you may lose some memory on who's who, or what preceded these events. If you've never watched the franchise, I definitely recommend going back and starting at the beginning so you can enjoy everything, however, I feel like the story is told in such a way that you can enjoy this movie alone for what it's worth.
From the very beginning "Sonic 3" feels like a ride. Off the bat it's already a welcoming affair as a family film. You feel like you're back for another adventure with some exciting friends. The action and jokes fly off the hop as pop culture references are thrown into the fray. The film is visually stunning, and feels pretty realistic between animation and real life. The want for friends gets you hyped and the music keeps you hyped.
The voice actors are well suited to their characters and are pleasing to listen to. They are able to convey the emotional tone well to make you feel included in the moment However, Jim Carrey just doesn't do it for me. He still ends up being too much despite him feeling toned down from the previous films. I won't deny that he is good at the role, and I don't think anyone could replace him as Dr. Robotnik, the over-the-top antics are just too much to handle. The antics are fun until they are too distracting, or they go too far and stop being funny. So for me, acting and dialogue take little hits.
Overall, the movie doesn't feel long, and is definitely worth seeing in theatres. If you have kids, please make sure they stay respectful, and if you don't have kids then go later in the day when kids aren't around. It's action packed and full of adventure. It teaches that you shouldn't let anger drive you, and that having the people on your side is more motivating than not. The visuals are so top notch that I wish more movies could achieve what "Sonic" does. Lots of animation, but natural feel. The acting isn't terrible, but my disdain for Jim Carrey will always knock the acting score down by a smidgen.

I'll probably get slack for this one, but I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Despite the reality of things being way out there, "Bad Boys II" entertains on so many levels by using lots of explosions, gun battles, and high octane car chases. This is the era I remember as a young kid where I could just sit in front of the tv and be entertained by the unrealistic craziness like "The Marine" (2006) or "The Rundown" (2003).
With time things get better, sometimes, and so I find the chemistry and humour between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence that much better here. They're funnier, but sometimes more annoying. They make the franchise work. Also, another reiteration of how much I appreciate the consistency between the "Bad Boys" films. The first two films definitely make the fourth film work so I look forward to seeing the third film.
Overall, plain and simple, this movie entertains. It doesn't make much reality sense the further the film gets, but it entertains. A great set of actors that have put the passion in to make it work are what's strong here. It's funny, maybe a little long due to all the 'endings' it has, but the conclusion for the film makes sense. Again, don't expect realism, but definitely expect to be entertained. Unless of course your partner shot your butt and now you've got something up there preventing you from having a good time.
