Why is it always the shows you ignore that end up being the best? Ted Lasso is a sleeper drama. I put this one off for 3 season because Jason Sudeikis is an acquired taste and he's always doing goofy roles. Which he kind of does here, but it's written in such a good way that it works. This show has a lot of heart and a lot of good lessons to be learned.
The rest of the cast is fantastic. Some familiar faces but a whole lot of new ones and not one of them is a weak link. Hats off to the casting director for making such great choices with this cast.
This show does have a lot of goofy moments and makes you go like "yeah that wouldn't happen in real life" but it's not a bad thing. On the contrary it definitely works. When the plot starts to get a bit too real they throw in a little moment that's just "out there" enough to bring back the light heartedness. It doesn't take itself too seriously while exploring real life issues.
Overall a great watch and would recommend to anyone who is tired of bad writing that has been plaguing tv shows as of late.
