If you like what we're doing, including with our cutting edge work into continuous compliance, don't forget we're currently hiring. Hit up our CTO, Ian Miell, for more details
With notable mentions for Stephen Midgley and Bryan Cantrill, this week's newsletter provides hope that for those of us who dare to produce (that's all of us), the presently arriving age of generative AI is nothing to worry about... More below.

What do frog legs, cloud computing and failure all have in common? They’re part of the messy, magnificent story of how we got here. Container Solutions founder Jamie Dobson has now released two episodes of the Visionaries, Rebels and Machines podcast, where he takes the audience through the ideas, accidents and breakthroughs that shaped our digital world. In the first episode Jamie takes us back to 1803 London where a scientist tried to bring a corpse back to life using electricity. What followed was the invention of the battery, a bitter feud between Volta and Galvani, and the spark that eventually powered everything from the telegraph to neural networks. It’s a story about how innovation often begins with conflict, curiosity, and a little bit of chaos. 📹 Watch on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eCCdpRU9 🎧 Listen on Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/eprACddg 🎧 Listen on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eNcNRDCa Follow and share to stay up to date with bi-weekly episodes.

OK, time for some thoughts around the other talks I was able to attend at AI for the rest of us 🤖 Overall, it was a great conference, you could tell so much effort had gone into making it accessible and welcoming in every way, great work Hannah Foxwell! There was a lovely vibe around the place, and a great location at the Museum of London spaces! Here's some main takeaways from some of my highlight talks I attended 😀 💡 Dynamic duo Jeff Watkins & Lianne P. gave a wonderfully different talk around AI agents, complete with characters, dress up and wit. Great to dig into the S.P.A.R framework (Sense, Plan, Act, Reflect) alongside learning about the Agent2Agent protocol, something I hadn't seen before! 💡 Jessica Bokuma was great, really practical advice around the use of not just AI, but automation first to get results quickly, something I have seen in the market too, don't always rush for the fancy AI solution! Tools like Zapier are extremely powerful. Also, did you know that voice to text is between x2 and x7 times faster...... I need to challenge myself to explore this more! 💡 Leapter and Langflow did a brilliant live demo. Love how simple Langflow make it to be able to create fantastic agentic workflows, with the ability to swap in/out the 3rd parties you want. And Leapter was fascinating, the ability to diversify who can create software products, powerful! Basically map out your requirements in natural language, visualise this in a consumable process map and also spit out code in either typescript or python that can be consumed via API or indeed in this example, MCP 🧠 💡 And lastly, an incredibly well delivered talk by Jamie Dobson around the history of AI, but nothing like I have heard before. It was really entertaining whilst being incredibly detailed and bringing to life, characters from the past who have had incredible impact on the world today, but a lot of them, that I had never heard of. New book out (Visionaries, Rebels and Machines), for those interested in this sort of topic, I am sure it will be a great read! And prob an even better listen via the audiobook, maybe I am biased because I am Northern 🤣

⚡️ How do you build an EV charging ecosystem that is scalable, resilient, and equitable? It starts with a modern approach to trust. For managed charging to succeed, security can't be a static checkbox—it must be a continuous, automated process. This is why we've embedded security into our daily operations through an innovative collaboration with Container Solutions. By implementing their open-source Continuous Compliance Framework (CCF), we automate the stringent requirements needed to maintain our SOC 2 standing. This ensures our partners and their customers can have unwavering confidence that their data is perpetually protected. This commitment to verifiable, ongoing security is the bedrock of our #OpenCharge philosophy. A truly open ecosystem, built on choice and collaboration, is only possible when trust is built in, not bolted on. Discover our vision for an open EV future on our website (link in comments).
