What is Pentacost?

Jerusalem - Israel

Background Info:
After Jesus died he appeared to the disciples For 40 days he talked to them about His Kingdom They asked him when He was going to restore the Kingdom of Israel He told them they would have to wait for the right time He said that he was going to send the Holy Spirit instead Then they would be able to tell people all over the world about Him

PROBLEM?

They all speak different languages.

Solution
Before Jesus went to Heaven he told the disciples to stay in Jerusalem and not leave until the Holy Spirit came.

What is the Holy Spirit?

Part of the Trinity.

Pentacost was a Jewish Holiday celebrating the Harvest.

Jews from all over were gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. The disciples were gathered in an upper room, sharing a meal when suddenly

There was a mighty wind.

The disciples started speaking in different languages.

The Jewish people came running to find out what was going on. The heard the disciples speaking their languages telling them about Jesus.

They thought they were drunk!

Peter spoke up and assured the Jews that the disciples werent drunk. It was only 9:00 in the morning!
