How to join a computer to Microsoft Active Directory domain

1. Pre-requirement: The computers IP address is configured with the correct information.

For CFIC case, you can use DHCP service to get the dynamic IP address from server. If you use static IP address (not recommend), the DNS servers must be 192.168.1.2 & 192.168.1.241

The computer is connected to network (LAN). The Domain Controller (DC) server is running.

2. Step-by-step guideline: Navigate to Start Computer then right-click on it. Choose Manage

On the System window, choose the Change settings

Click on the Change

You will see something like the below not 100% same.

Key-in the domain name in the text-box (under the Doman:). In this case the input information is cfic.local, then click OK button.

Wait a moment for the joining process. If you see the Welcome to the <<domain-name>> domain message, your computer has joined to the AD domain. Click OK.

Then OK again.

The computer must be restart before you can access the domains resource.

After restart - - > JOB DONE!
