Description and purpose
Modems are devices that are typically con-
nected to your cable box or a free coaxial
cable. If you have the old internets like DSL
adn Dial Up, then they connect to the wall.
The modem receives the information we get
as analog waves. The modem converts that
information for us to digital information.
Modems connect us to the internet.
Function and What it does
How does it work?
A modem basically provides our devices with
internet by being able to send, receive and
translate data for us. Modems come in difer-
ent types which results in diferent set-ups.
Besides just allowing us to con-
nect to the internet, modems also
checks to see if the information
youre going to view is damaged.
If it is, then the data is sent back.
Characters allow for connection
to fow better between slow and
fast devices. The slow one will
send a character to the faster one
until it catches up, then they both
resume in working.
