Welcome parents/guardians!

I hope you are looking forward to this school year as

much as I am. I cannot wait to get to know each of your children and work with
them for an entire year. Let me start off with introducing myself. I am Casey Ragan,
your childs 2nd grade teacher here at Sunset Valley Elementary. I recently graduated
from Seton Hill University with a degree in Elementary Education and Special
Education and was hired here at Sunset Valley almost immediately. I cannot express
how enthused I am to be here with the opportunity to work with such a talented
group of young minds.
We have a busy year ahead of our classroom and are anticipating a lot of fun. We
will be focusing on mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, and spelling.
Our students will be gaining knowledge in all subjects, and growing into a mature
student, preparing for the final few years as an elementary student. Like myself, you
as a parent/guardian play an important role in your childs education. I will need
your commitment in following through with practicing concepts and assignments at
home when they are assigned. Parent/guardian involvement is very important to us.
We welcome any parent/guardian in the classroom, as volunteers or guest speakers.
Having you as part of these students education is very important.
Together, I believe we can have a successful and exciting year in second grade.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Cultural Awareness
1) Cultural Celebration Day
