staffing

The selection and training of individuals for specific job functions, and charging them with the associated responsibilities.

recruitment and selection

Terms that refer to the process of attracting and choosing candidates for employment. The personnel department of a
larger business will often have detailed recruitment and selection policies that need to be followed by those responsible for
hiring new employees.

recruitment
The process of identifying and hiring the best-qualified candidate (from within or outside of an organization) for
a job vacancy, in a most timely and cost effective manner.

selection

Manpower
. General: Total supply of personnel available or engaged for a specific job or task.
2. Economics: Total labor force of a nation, including both men and women. If there are more people than available jobs, it
is called manpower surplus; if available people are fewer than jobs, it is called manpower deficit.

human resource
The resource that resides in the knowledge, skills, and motivation of people. Human resource is the least mobile of the
four factors of production, and (under right conditions) it improves with age and experience, which no other resource can
do. It is therefore regarded as the scarcest and most crucial productive resource that creates the largest and longest
lasting advantage for an organization.
