2.mechanical Seal - 02

1. There are two main types of seals used in pumps - packing seals and mechanical seals. Packing seals have direct contact on the shaft which causes shaft wear, while mechanical seals transfer wear to a replaceable sleeve or surface. 2. Mechanical seals consist of a stationary element and a rotating element that have a small gap between them to prevent leakage, with various designs to handle different pump configurations and environments. 3. Bellow mechanical seals provide uniform stress distribution and enhanced fatigue strength through their 45 degree tilt and multi-sweep radius bellows design, making them suitable for high temperature, high pressure applications.
