Evolution of India's Education System

The Indian education system has undergone significant changes over the past six decades. Previously, education was focused on expanding knowledge and a 10th grade qualification was sufficient, but options for further education were limited. Now, education has become compulsory up to age 14, aiming to provide education for all across India. The system is now divided into pre-primary, primary, middle, secondary, higher secondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. Students can choose from a wide range of subjects and career paths including management, engineering, medicine, law, and more. While access to education has improved, issues still include too many low-quality education centers and a focus on jobs over well-rounded growth.
