Life’s Lessons
Life’s lessons accumulate like dust
to form a blanket of what’s known,
and what’s discarded
and what’s yet to be learned.
Blown into dunes, scattered and drifted
and always just a breath away
from completely disappearing.
Life’s lessons form the soil
for the new generation’s roots
and are the remnants of the last.
Life’s lessons are a gift for the wise
and are a burden for the fool
and in the end are meaningless.
