Three Stages of Strategic Management

The strategic management process consists of three stages: strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and strategy evaluation. Strategy formulation includes developing a vision and mission, identifying opportunities and threats, determining strengths and weaknesses, and choosing strategies. Strategy implementation establishes objectives, policies, and allocates resources to execute strategies. Strategy evaluation is the final stage and provides information on whether strategies are working by assessing changes to external and internal factors.
