Understanding DNA Replication Process

DNA replication involves unwinding the double helix structure of DNA and using each strand as a template to produce two new double helix DNA molecules. The enzyme helicase unwinds the DNA strands, which are then used as templates for DNA polymerase to add complementary nucleotides in the 5' to 3' direction to each new strand. DNA ligase then seals the DNA fragments together.
