Fresh Vision
1 Sometimes we are crippled due to lack of clear vision. (In order for the Church to
accomplish its goals and mission, we must have a fresh vision).
2 As a Church we must find Gods purpose and be a purpose driven Church. (One Church had
a membership drive, and one member bragged about his accomplishments, he said he ran off 40
members).
3 Solomon, in his wisdom and under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit wrote in (Pro.29:18),
"Where there is no vision the people perish." Meaning, if people don't know what to do, then
they don't do anything or they do their own thing. (The FWC will never accomplish it goals, if we
do nothing, if we do our own thing). It is my prayer that we tap into the vision of what God wants
this church to be).
4 The word "vision" is not a reference to the ability to see the future. It refers to the will and
purpose of God being made known, "what I mean is inspired guidance." (We need inspired
guidance in a fresh vision).
5 (Pro.29:18) could be translated, "Where there is no vision, the people "fall apart" or "go to
pieces".
6 The church should have a corporate vision; each individual vision must come together
To make up a corporate vision. (Will you be a part of the corporate vision in 2015)?
7 The average Church today is like a football game --- you have 22 players in desperate need
of rest being watched by 50,000 people in desperate need of exercise. (Will you be a player in
2015)?
8 We cannot afford to lose sight of our mission.
9 We cannot allow anything to come between us and our vision.
10 A program is just a program until God pours His anointing upon it then it becomes a
ministry. (Will you become a part of the ministry in 2015)?
11 John Maxwell defines vision in a three-fold manner; "The ability to see---awareness. The
ability to believe---attitude. The ability to do---action." Vision is the ability to see beyond the
surface of human potential. It is not what we are but what we desire to become. Vision is a
mental picture of a desired future.
12 JESUS CHRIST had a clear vision of what His mission was. As a result, His life had
purpose, meaning, and fulfillment in that He achieved His mission on earth. (Will you achieve
your mission on earth)?
Texts:
2 Kings 6:17
17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the
LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of
horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Introduction
1 And when that servant came back and announced to his master, Elisha, "Master, we are in
despair! The armies of the enemy surround us on every side, there is not any escape!"
2 How did Elisha respond to his servant? In (2 Kings 6:16) we find that he answered, Fear not:
for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
3 I can imaging his servant saying to himself, He's lost his marbles; he's got a screw loose:
(They that are with us! How many of us?) There two; him and me, me and himtwo of
us! And yet he says, They that are with us are more than they that are with them. And there is
an army out there! (Can I tell you that sometimes in lift, things dont add up). That is why we
need a fresh vision.
4 Then Elisha bowed his head and prayed and asked, "O Lord, open the eyes of the young
man, open his eyes, let him see, let him see." And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man
and answered the prayer of Elisha. And the mountains were filled with horses and chariots of fire
round about Elisha [2 Kings 6:17].
5 This young man was like the average church member, he had his eyes to see, and he had his
ears to hear, but seeing, he couldn't see; and hearing, he couldn't hear. And Elisha reckoned the
young man as being blind, and deaf, and dumb. And Elisha prayed that he might have eyes to
see. Elisha prayed for this young man that he would have a fresh vision.
The servant of Elisha was suffering from spiritual blindness:
1 Thus, Elishas prayer, "open his eyes so he may see." (He wasnt literally blind because he
saw the Syrians). Could it be that all you see now is the enemy?
2 The army of God was made up of invisible spiritual beings. The servant was like people in
our day who can look out at the creation and see all the wonders of Gods making and not see
God in it.
3 (I Cor. 2:14) says, Even some nominal Christians claim allegiance to God but are unable to
see His power and authority in their lives.
4 An ancient question comes to mind; "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Rom. 8:31).
5 Our God can make all the circumstances of our lives work out for the good. (Rom. 8:28).
6 The Christian is never alone. We march with a great unseen army. Christ is our Captain and
Leader. His army is made up of all those who claim Him as Lord and all the spiritual forces
existing in the unseen world all around us. It is an unconquerable army with all the power of the
Creator of the universe behind it.
As the Biblical writer asked, "who can be against us?"
What do you see?
1 Who do you want to be like this morning? The ten spies who had an inferiority complex,
gave in to fear, had a pessimistic negative spirit, gave into their emotions, did not belief,
rebelled, and received severe punishment? Or do you want to be like Joshua and Caleb who had
confidence, courage, an optimistic spirit, an influence for good, had a strong faith in God, were
completely obedient, and were rewarded abundantly?
2 Twelve spies went to spy out Canaan, but only two had their eyes open. God wants us to
open our eyes and enjoy the trip.
