proper collection of waste oil & disposal of the same.

To identify the proper places for the storage of New


Oil , used oil and waste oil in drums.
While storing the oil drums, the following
procedures are to be ensured:
The drum lid should be in proper tight
Oil drums are to be made flat
Oil drum mouth are to be identified and oil
should be transferred to the good empty
drums
To avoid one half of the drum rusting, the
drums positioned is to be changed by half
rotation
Oil drained from Current transformers are reuse
able for the purpose of flushing with out any further
treatment.
The good empty drums are to be shifted to
the working place
The reuse able oils are collected in drums and
shifted to the assigned place

Collection of waste oil:
The good empty drums are to be shifted to
the working place

Waste oil shall be collected and transferred to


the empty drums immediately
After completion of the work, the waste oil

To ensure that the waste oil drums are clearly
marked as waste oil and stored with closed
lids
The area of storage of waste oil should also be
marked as hazardous waste storage area
Disposal of waste oil:
Waste oil drums are to be stored at its
assigned place
Once sufficient quantity of oil drums are Executives of the Division
collected or once in a year, the waste oil filled
drums are to be sent to Disposal yard through
Civil / Disposal Wing

Checking, Corrective & Preventive Action:


DGM / Electrical shall ensure implementation of above procedure through
periodic interaction with engineers / operators and review records. In case of any
deviation, corrective and preventive action shall be immediately undertaken.
