Factual What is the environment?
The environment is something you are very familiar with. It's everything that makes up our
surroundings and affects our ability to live on the earththe air we breathe, the water that
covers most of the earth's surface, the plants and animals around us.

What is happening to the environment?
Our environment is in need of a lot of work. The ozone layer is quickly rotting away;
the waters are polluted; and the rain forest is rapidly shrinking in size due to the
ignorance of land developers. So why isn't anything being done? Everyone thinks if
they ignore the problem, it will go away. Granted there are many people who do
more than their share when it comes to taking care of our planet, but it still isn't
enough. We all need to get together and start recycling our plastics and papers,
sorting our trash and reduce cutting down our trees. After all, we only have one
planet.

What are the natural aspects of the environment?
The natural environment encompasses all living and non-living things occurring naturally on
Earth or some region thereof. It is an environment that encompasses the interaction of all
living species. Climate, weather, and natural resources that affect human survival and
economic activity.

Conceptual How do we destroy the environment?
1) Deforestation: Close second comes the deforestation all over the world, to harness
forest resources, to clear land, for wood and for various other reasons. Deforestation
causes major problems for one simple reason; it decreases the number of trees, which
clean the environment, provide oxygen and also affect rain patterns. This is the major
reason why there are calls for tree plantation; it is to make up for this loss.
2) High number of industries such as mining: Mining creates a lot of pollution, mainly
because it releases particulate matter, which qualifies as Respirable Particulate Matter
(RPM); the particulate matter which can enter our lungs and can harm the entire
respiratory system. This form causes the most direct harm to humans, also particulate
matter can come from indoor pollution, as can be seen in cooking on traditional
choolahs and cottage industries like bangle-making.
3) Chemical effluents: Effluents are another by-product of industries which poses threat
to the environment, leather and tanning industries, petroleum industries and chemical
manufacturing industries create major waste products which are released directly into
nearby streams without treatment, creating river pollution and causing harm to aquatic
life.
4) Transport: As the spending power of the population increases and as cars become
available more, the number of vehicles on the road increases. The amount has grown
exponentially in countries like India, Brazil and China and this is a point form of pollution
which directly affects humans. Smog is a nuisance that is created because of vehicular
pollution, and Hydrocarbons released from engines are the cause of creation of lower
level ozone that is harmful to humans.
5 ) The Population Explosion: The increasing population creates a load that the entire
environment has to support, not only in terms of food and lodging, but also in terms of
the amount of waste that it generates and the ability of the environment to sustain this
growth. All major activities are carried out to support this growing population, and whilst
this is unavoidable, what is required is the proper planning that should come with this
explosion.

Why is it important to care about the environment?
1. Conserve energy at home.
Fix leaky faucets, turn off lights and appliances when not in use, and buy energy efficient
products. Check showerheads and toilets for leaks, and consider low flow models. Reduce
the settings on water heaters and household thermostats; limit use of air conditioning. Make
sure your home is efficiently insulated.
2. Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Dispose of harmful materials properly, re-use or recycle things you no longer need, and place
recyclables in proper bins for pick up. For every ton of paper recycled, 17 trees are saved.
3. Buy safe products.
Dont support toxic materials such as home improvement products like paint with lead or food
products with pesticides. Buy organic produce when possible, and learn what products are
safest for your consumption and for the health of the planet.
4. Drive conservatively.
Carpool or take public transportation when you can, and consolidate your trips for gas
conservation. Observe speed limits, and avoid rapid acceleration and excessive breaking and
idling. Ride a bike and walk for local errands. Research how you can reduce carbon
emissions by keeping your car in top shape. Keep tires properly inflated to improve gas
mileage. Every 10 days, drivers with under-inflated tires and poorly maintained engines
waste 70 million gallons of gasoline.
5. Green up your life.
Switch to solar energy at home if feasible, grow as much of your own food as you can, use
natural fiber clothing, and make your own cleaning and beauty care products.
Educate yourself as much as possible about the environmental issues that concern every
earth citizen, and start taking actions that show you care about the environment. Be a role
model and leader for others. Each individual contributes to the success of the whole. Go
green now!

ARTICLE ON GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE
Environmental issues are harmful effects of human activity on
the biophysical environment. Environmental protection is a
practice of protecting the natural environment on individual,
organizational or governmental levels, for the benefit of both the
environment and humans. Environmentalism, a social and
environmental movement, addresses environmental issues
through advocacy, education and activism.Environment
destruction caused by humans is a global problem, and this is a
problem that is on going every day. By year 2050, the global
human population is expected to grow by 2 billion people,
thereby reaching a level of 9.6 billion people (Living Blue
Planet 24).[2] The human effects on Earth can be seen in many
different ways. A main one is the temperature rise, and
according to the report Our Changing Climate, the global
warming that has been going on for the past 50 years is
primarily due to human activities (Walsh, et al. 20). Since 1895,
the U.S. average temperature has increased from 1.3 F to 1.9
F, with most of the increase taken place since around year 1970
(Walsh, et al. 20).[3]. Our environment is constantly changing.
There is no denying that. However, as our environment changes,
so does the need to become increasingly aware of the problems
that surround it. With a massive influx of natural disasters,
warming and cooling periods, different types of weather patterns
and much more, people need to be aware of what types of
environmental problems our planet is facing.

Conclusion
On the basis of coordinating with other related planning and
analyzing the current challenges in the
environment,Environmental issues are indeed everyones
concern. There have been a lot of efforts being put by the parties
who are interested and concerned to limit the damage done to
the environment around the world as well as to raise public
awareness around the world.
