Yes, sometimes the teacher uses the manipulative in the class, it
dependents to the lesson.
o
If so, what models and manipulatives were used?
Cubes, Abacus and base-ten blocks.
Ask your MST about how she organizes her class when she uses manipulatives.
She gave each group the manipulatives and students can share it together.
o
Does she write her lessons differently?
No, she follows the education ministry plan
o
Does she use more or less time for the activities?
She gave them less time in activity because she spent most of the time in
explaining the lesson because she thinks it is more important than the
activity and students cant understand the lesson until explaining for
them over and over again.
How does she prepare the materials before the lesson?
She prepared the materials beforehand and she put them on her table
while explaining the activity she started to distribute the materials to
them.
How does she give directions or model the use of the manipulatives?
She demonstrated for students how to use the manipulatives (providing
them a clear instructions) then she gave them examples and modeled it
for them.
Take pictures of the materials for your artifacts collection, if appropriate,
