Logan Karls plans to attend the University of Minnesota - Twin


Cities, persuing Chemical Engineering. Logan has participated in
Cross Country, Baseball, NHS and Track and Field. Fondest memory
is cross country with the upperclassmen. Logans favorite class was
computer programming with Mr. Holthaus, but he says he will miss
seeing his friends every day and the after school sports.
Sierra Kooistra plans to work full-time this summer, until she
leaves for college in August. She was in jazz, band, NHS, volleyball
in 9th and 10th grade and Band. Her favorite memories there is to
many to count, but they pretty much all have to do with her
chemistry lab group. Chemistry was definitely her favorite class, it
was challenging yet intriguing and my lab group made it really fun!
She wants to travel the world, drinking in the remarkable beauty all
around her.
Madison LaQua has been here since the sixth grade. She has been
involved with volleyball, trap shooting, NHS and concert band.
Madison plans to attend NDSU for an animal science degree on a
Pre-Vet track. She plans on becoming a large animal vet. Her favorite
class was anything that Mr. Froiland taught. She loves science and all
of his classes related to a form of biology so she enjoyed them a lot.
Kelsey Nelson joined Big Lake as a kindergarten. She has
participated in NHS, Cross Country, Basketball, Track and Field
Kelsey plans to major in Biology at Gustavus. Her favorite class
was Human Biology with Froiland. Fondest memory, exploding our
chemistry lab in Bowens class. She will miss the most watching
football games, playing basketball with her teammates and seeing her
friends everyday. Advice Stay motivated and do your homework.:
In 10 years Kelsey can she herself having a family and working in a
career that she loves.
Sydney Nygaard is a life-long Big Laker who plans to attend the
University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and study speech-languagehearing science to become a speech pathologist. Sydney was the the
swim team, student council, knowledge bowl, yearbook, NHS and
choir. Her favorite class is CIC intro to lit with Mrs. Curto because
she discovered her favorite book. Sydney says she will miss homecoming and sno-daze week, high school football games and her
friends. Advice The school is full of resources, such as the counselors, teachers and the library. Use them,! she said.
John Thomalla enjoyed playing baseball and football. He plans to
attend SCSU for Mechanical Engineering.
In 10 years I see myself still in school, he said.
John will miss seeing the people he has grown up with. Fondest
memory was Mr. Barris watermelon patch. Advice for underclassmen: Dont be lazy. Just show up to class and youll pass.
Megan Wendlant has been with Big Lake since her freshman year.
She has been involved with NHS, Jazz Band, Volleyball and Friends
of Rachel. She plans to attend SCUS to major in Electrical
Engineering. Many fond memories but the one she remembers the
most is the jazz festivals. Always had so much fun playing for other
schools. Mr. Purdy her favorite teacher, he always knew how to keep
the students engaged while he was teaching Englilsh. She will miss
most that she could learn for free from great teachers and see her best
friends all day.
Kailee Williams has been with Big Lake since kindergarten. She
has been involved with NHS, softball, wrestling and soccer. She
plans to attend SCUS to major in Criminal Justice and Forensics.
Winning the ACGC tournament with her wrestling family is one of
her fondest memory. Favorite class Human Biology with Froiland,
favorite teacher Holthaus. She will miss sports for sure! And managing wrestling! Advice for underclassmen: Do PSEO!
