Students will add and subtract while converting dollars to Chinese yuan.

Students will be assessed using informal observation and a checklist. The checklist
will assess how independent the students were and if they were able to add and
subtract from dollars to yuan.
Monitoring of Progress: (describe)
Monitoring of progress will take place during review of previous learning and during
the Chinese math worksheet.
*List any special accommodations or modifications in the learning plan required by student needs.
Students achieving below grade level expectations in math will be worked with in a
small group once the independent portion of the lesson begins.
Why have you chosen this approach for assessment?
I have chosen a checklist in order to track what student strengths and
weaknesses were for this math activity.

Why have you chosen these strategies/methods?


I have chosen these strategies because it uses the addition and
subtraction skills my students know well in a new way. It is requiring
them to transfer their knowledge.

Students will be shown money from India, Mexico and Brazil that we have already
studied.
