WHAT IS VAASTU?
• Sthapatya Ved is an ancient architecture from India. It is
part of a system of knowledge called Veda.
• Vastu Sastra is the ancient Indian science of buildings

WHAT IS VAASTU?
Unlike other construction sciences, which talk
mainly about material and architectural aspects,
Vastu also talks about the social and behavioral
changes one can expect to happen in their lives by
living in certain types of houses.
Vastu shastra is an ancient art and science,
containing principles and practices of constructing
buildings which ensures a harmonious balance
between man and nature and thereby bring all
round happiness, health, wealth and prosperity.

TYPES OF VASTU
There are four types of Vastu:
1) Bhoomi - deals with selection of a site/land
2) Prasada - deals with Palaces and buildings
3) Yana - Vehicles, carts and ships
4) Sayana - furniture, tools and utensils

Shri Vishvakarma is the source
of Sthapatya Ved knowledge. He
is the origin of the entire
knowledge. The universe is
created with the very same
principles that he passed to
Rishis and Maharishis thousands
of years ago to utilize in
designing homes, cities and
countries. This very universe is
in precise order, moving with
precise time throughout many
Lord Vishwakrma billions of years.

Koutilya‟s „Artha Sastra‟- Vastu as a basis for constructing
Villages, Landscapes, Gardens, Bridges,Ponds and Lakes.
Varahamihira in his great work „Brihat Samhita‟ ---weather
forecasting, earthquake forecasting, rainfall, architecture,
exploration of water springs
„Manasara‟ --- great book on Vastu, discusses the principles
of architectural and sculptural construction.
„Mayamatam‟ of Maya who is said to build the great Maya
Sabha of Pandavas (of Mahabharatha times) is a rich work
with 36 chapters

EVOLUTION OF VASTU
1. Man‟s homes, unlike other creatures has undergone a transformation
too. Starting from caves five thousand years ago it has transited through
huts, tiled houses and is now in the form of skyscrapers piercing the skies.
2. Homes gave protection to the inmates from the vagaries of nature. It
offered protection during weak times like sleep. More so it offered a place to
store the assets for the sake of harsher times.
3. Ever since the evolution imparted intelligence to life, creatures have
been seeking to build homes.

enhancing source bioenergetics is considered,
from ancient times, to be the most important
thing you can do to ensure a happier life, good

that homes (no matter how physically attractive)
– if they have poor Vastu energetics, the
inhabitants will still be subject to unnecessary

scrupulously clean, open and highly receptive in a
welcome “mode” always.
