Hi,
I have done batch management both for header and component level and batch determination have
beed activated with search procedure. During Goods receipt, for component against PO (in MIGO) and
for FG process order release batches are automatically created. But during release of process order,
release is rejected showing the message "Please enter the batch for the component". When I am trying to
select the batch for the component it shows "batch determination for component number without selection
data"....."No search strategy could be found"..........."Dp you want to create selection criteria for the batch?" and
lastly....'selection criteria transferred from material classification (of finished goods)". So wher is the problem for
component automatic batch determination? I have used standard search procedure...C00001 and mentioned in
process order dependent parameter" Please help.

I feel you have maintained batch search strategy for Goods movement in MBC1.
IN order to get in production order
Create a Batch search strategy for production order in COB1 and maintain sort rule in CU70

In Addition to the expert, please check whether you allocates the IM search procedure and activates the
check.t-codeOMCG
Here assign the search procedure to 261 movement and tick mark batch managament
Check and revert.

I need auto batch determination of the component material during process order release.
I have done:-
1. T code: MBC1:- Batch search strategy ME01 for the component mat with movement type 261.
2. T Code: CU70:-Created new sort sequence - BATCH_01 underwhich I have inserted the characteristic
colour and carbon percentage in assending order. These characteristicsare maintained in mat. master of
component also.
3. T code: COR4:-maintain Search procedure CO0001in order type dependent parameter with check bat
active.
4. T code: COB1:- under batch strategy ZPI1 maintain order type, component no., plant, material as
component no. validity period, batch split-999, tick in dialogue batch determination, selection criteria- put the
characteristic for the component mainatained in mat master also. and sort rule- BATCH_01.
What I have missed? Please help.

Dear Kris,
1) Check in T.Code OPLG, whether you have maintain ZPI1 in search procedure CO0001.If not maintain it.
2) Also Check in material master of all the bom components.Batch Entry file should be maintain as 3.
3) Check the correctness of Batch Class assignment in all the bom components.
4) Characteristic(which you have maintain in CU70) value should be there in all the concern batches of bom
components.

Please check in order type - are you maintained batch search procedure. and tick the check
Are you maintained in Material master for that component - Batch entry- Automatic batch determination of the
order release
and Check are you maintained the tick in OPJ2 for that order type,
And check it is coming or not
IF still comes
Go to component view of Order
and click the batch determination and find for what strategy the condition is missing
Maintain the Condition in COB1 for the material and order type and maintain sort rule,

Please check the folloing set up for automatic batch determination :
It is required lot of set up both in production order parameters and Batch Managemnet .I am providing you a
summery of it .
Configuration Required for your above issue are as follows :
1.Activated Batch Management in the Material Master-MRP2 view and Work Scheduling view of the FG
2.check material master MM02, tab MRP2 and set field "Batch Entry" to value 3 here
4.You maintain a Search Procedure in OPL8 - Order Type Dependent parameters .Before that you should have
Batch serach strategy :The sequence of steps are as follows -
Create Condition Tables
Create Access Sequences
Create Strategy Types
Batch Search procedure definition
Batch Search procedure allocation and check activation
Define Selection classes
Define sort rules
Maintain Batch Allocation Strategy Number Ranges
All the above are available in the Path - SPRO --->Logistics-General ---> Batch Management ---> Batch
Determination and Batch Check
5.Maintain the setting in T.code OPKP (production scheduling profile). Select automatic batch creation on order
creation.
6.If u want to execute the batch determination for components in the component overview of production order ,
then u have to create batch search strategy at COB1
7.If u want to execute during order confirmation u have to create batch search strategy at MBC1.
