Supreme Court decision known as the Continuing Mandamus on
Manila Bay requires everybody in the Laguna Lake Basin to manage
their garbage to prevent pollution of and restore coastal area
surrounding Manila Bay.
National Solid Waste Management Commission requires the Los
Baos Local Government Unit to divert 50% of solid waste
generated through composting of biodegradable and
recycling/reuse of recyclables and the rest to be disposed in the
sanitary landfill in 2016 as provided in the approved Ten Year Solid
Waste Management Plan of Los Baos 2014-2023.

In 2013, Mayor Perez tasked the MENRO to
spearhead the development of the
municipalitys Ten-Year Solid Waste
Management Plan.
The Ten-Year Ecological Solid Waste
Management Plan of Los Baos was approved
by the National Solid Waste Management
Commission in 2014 and adopted through a
resolution by the Sanggunian in 2015,
