METHOD STATEMENT FOR
FAN COIL UNIT INSTALLATION
1. GENERAL
This method statement describes the Fan Coil Unit installation. Detail of the procedure contained herein may be
modified based on the actual site condition.
2. EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS
Basic equipment for installation of ventilation fan is as follows; 2.1
Ladder
2.2 Scaffolding
2.3 Drilling machine
2.4 Wrench
2.5 Adjustable wrench
2.6 Chain lock
2.7 Spirit level
3. WORKING PROCEDURE
3.1 Site Preparation
3.1.1 Check the builder.s work and installation location.
3.1.2 Check setting out of pipe route lines
3.2 Equipment Check
3.2.1 Check FCU type and model.
3.2.2 Check visible damage of FCU.
3.2.3 Rotate fan blower by hand for abnormality check of blower and housing.
3.2.4 Ensure that there is no foreign material inside blower and housing.
3.3 Installation
3.3.1 Check dimension of FCU base and mounting points.
3.3.2 Fix expansion bolts, rods.
3.3.3 Size of hanger rods and type of vibration isolator shall be followed the summary table.
3.3.4 Hang or mount FCU with rubber pads or spring vibration isolator in accordance with
standard installation drawing.
3.3.5 Adjust FCU level to meet drain water flow to direction of condensate drain pipe. Fix
bolts, nuts and washers.
3.3.6 In case of FCU install in the conceal area, service panel minimum size 450x450 mm.
shall be provided. Service panel location and its detail drawing shall be coordinated with
architectural work in working drawing stage.

4. QUALITY CONTROL
Quality control works should be performed in the particular works as discussed in the following.
4.1 FCU type and Model shall be checked before transportation to installation place.
4.2 Installation work shall be performed in accordance with approved shop drawing and acceptance by
inspection and check list as per attachment.
