Section 10.5- Creating Charts in Excel

1. Bar chart- a graphic illustration of spreadsheet data, in which vertical and horizontal bars, lines,

or charts represent data values

2. Column bar chart-a display of data represented in a graphic illustration

3. Data label- a label that provides information from the spreadsheet

4. Legend –a guide on a chart that explains the symbols, colors, etc., used to represent categories

of data

5. Line Chart –a chart that uses points on a grid connected by lines to represent values in a

spreadsheet

6. Percentage label –a label that indicates what percentage is indicated

7. Pie chart a graphic illustration of spreadsheet data that compares the sizes of pieces to a whole

8. X axis-a horizontal bar-chart scale that displays a range of values

9. Y axis – a vertical bar-chart scale that displays a range of values
