INTRODUCTION:

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is a department of the government
of Tamil Nadu that is responsible for governing the recruitment of personnel into the state's
public service. It is the successor of the Madras Service Commission, which came into being
under an Act of the Madras Legislature in 1929 and was the first Provincial Public Service
Commission in India. It adopted its current name in 1970. TNPSC operates under Articles
315 to 323 of Part XIV of the Constitution of India.[3]

GROUP 1:

1.Deputy Collector

2 Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category – I)

3 Assistant Commissioner, Tamil Nadu Commercial Taxes Service

4 District Registrar, Tamil Nadu Registration Service

5.District Employment Officer

6. DSP (Fire and Rescue Service).

Educational Qualification : Any Degree

Age: Minimum – 21 years.

Maximum – 30 (Other Category) / 35 (SC, SCA, ST, MBC, DNC, BC, BCM & DW)

Differently abled – 10 years over and above the maximum age limit prescribed.

Exam Pattern: Prelims & Mains


Prelims (Objective Type) – General Studies – 200 Questions (300 Marks; 3 Hours)

Mains (Written)

Paper I – 300 Marks ; 3 Hours

Paper II – 300 Marks ; 3 Hours

What are the postings would be covered?

No new posts have been created, only the posts which covered by Group 4 and VAO exams.
So the selection will be conducted for the previous Group 4 and VAO positions. We listed

What is TNPSC Group 4 Eligibility Criteria 2018

TNPSC Group 4 Educational Qualification

To this Recruitment Minimum educational qualification is 10th Standard. The Applicant


should have completed the SSLC or 10th as on the notification date of TNPSC Group 4. To
know the full details i.e Technical Qualification.

 10th Standard / SSLC

Technical Qualification for Typist

Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting

i. by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or)


ii. by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/ Junior Grade in English
iii. (or) by Higher / Senior Grad e in English and Lower/ Junior Grade in Tamil.

TNPSC Group 4 Age Limit

The minimum age for all Community to apply for the Group IV exam is 18 Years and VAO
is 21 years. But the Maximum age limit for applying to group iv exam varies for different
categories. For example, SC, ST 35 years. To know age limit for all categories and exception
in maximum age limit (Up to 56) TNPSC Group 4 Selection Process

TNPSC Group 4 Selection process has two stage. Generally, the Group 4 exam is coming
under direct recruitment of TNPSC jobs.
