Acid Reflux: Ulcers Peptic Ulcer Stomach Small Intestine

Gastric and duodenal ulcers are two types of peptic ulcers that are sores inside the stomach lining or upper small intestine. A person can have one or both ulcers at the same time, known as gastroduodenal ulcers. Acid reflux, also called GERD, is a long-term condition where stomach contents come back up into the esophagus, causing symptoms like heartburn or complications like damage to the esophagus. Medications for ulcers and acid reflux may take 1 to 4 days for full effect and should be taken before meals on an empty stomach.

Gastric and duodenal ulcers are two kinds of peptic ulcers.

A peptic ulcer is a sore that’s on the inside of the stomach lining

(gastric) or the upper part of the small intestine (duodenal).

A person can have one or both ulcers at the same time. Having
both types is known as gastroduodenal.

Acid reflux
Also called: GERD, gastroesophageal reflux disease

 is a long-term condition where stomach contents come back up into

the esophagus resulting in either symptoms or complications.[5][6] Symptoms
include the taste of acid in the back of the mouth, heartburn, bad
breath, chest pain, vomiting, breathing problems, and wearing away of
the teeth.[5] Complications include esophagitis, esophageal strictures,
and Barrett's esophagus.[5]

Since it may take 1 to 4 days to have full effect, these
