What you are expected to
learn
In this module, you are expected to:
1. be familiarized with machine shorthand keyboard.
2. Illustrate the proper home keys of machine shorthand.
3. write the different punctuation marks of the machine shorthand.
4. Identify the consonant compounds by depressing the proper keys.
5. read the reading tape notes with speed and accuracy.
6. apply the different derivatives, abbreviations and phrases in machine
shorthand.
7. Practice typing short sentences with a quick and relaxed stroke.

In this module you learned the different new keys,
phrases and abbreviations on it. You gained more
knowledge about the different new sounds and
familiarized in Machine shorthand. Be able to take a
speed test as accurately as you can. Try to increase
your rate by firm determination to beat your best.
Some of the derivatives are difficult in your first try.
Remember each and you will soon realize that as go on
each one will be easily be memorized. And when
writing numbers, keep your fingers slightly curved and
try to write the number with the tip of your finger. Be
sure to feel the crack between the numeral bars and
home keys with confidence. I am hoping that this
module will help you to develop your skills in Machine
