Microbial Safety in Pasteurized Milk

Microbial colonies were isolated in pasteurized milk samples, but some samples did not form standard plate or coliform plate colonies. Tests showed many samples had unacceptable levels of Enterobacter spp. and Escherichia coli, demonstrating the need for dairy plants to routinely perform tests like the methylene blue reduction test to ensure milk safety for human consumption.
