TRIM QUALITY CHECKER

• Module name – Trim Quality Checker

• Code - GAR 04

• Entry Qualification: Minimum 7th Standard and 14 years of age

• Terminal Competency: After completing the training candidate would be able to


inspect the trims received, compare with the standards and the customer
requirements and approve or disapprove.

• Duration: 120 hours.


COURSE CONTENT

Objective:

• To receive Incoming material

Trims inspection:-

• Issuing is done on the basis of priority, 1.5AQL system is being followed

CHECK POINTS

 Sewing Thread
• Construction- Yarn strength, elongation and number of plies.
• Sew-ability- Check the running performance.
• Free from slub, knots and shade variation.
• Check winding and Finish.
• Thread must be in correct quality to keep its strength, also after heavy
garment wash.
CHECK POINTS

 Zippers
• Width of tape.
• Color uniformity
• Slider should lock properly
• Should not pucker when attached to fabric.
• Waviness
• Contamination

 Metal Accessories to be tested for the banned chemicals as per the buyer’s
Chemical Restriction Manual.

 Metal accessories for Babies and Children’s wear must be tested individually
for ferrous and also be passed through the needle detector as a finished
product before bulk production starts.
CHECK POINTS

 Buttons
• Check for hole centers
• Clean sew holes.
• Button thickness and diameter as per specification
• Color and shade as per standard
• Withstand laundering, dry cleaning and pressing
• Crack, scratch marks and sharp edges.
• Sharp edges are being checked in the sample picked
CHECK POINTS

 Elastics
• Must have suitable elasticity.
• Acceptable expiry date.
• Be relaxed and pre-shrunk e.g. tumble dried or steamed before sewn into
the garments.
• Checked for width, thickness, elasticity, construction and waviness against
the approved one.
CHECK POINTS

 Labels
• Dimension as per standard
• Print
• Instructions
• Care label, Country of origin label and other regulatory labels as per the
clients’ requirement must be wash-proof and readable during useful life of
the product. The same needs to be checked and ensured.
• Must be also checked as per the approved sample of the same on
merchant approved trim card.

• Print on poly bag.
• Seal if required
