0.5 h Introduction Explain the course objectives, go through the TEC 00.08.01
sections of the course and compare with the
prevailing expectations.
Inform of the rules that apply during the training
course concerning lecture times, breaks, etc.
Go through the environmental and safety
precautions.

Presentation Let the participants introduce themselves:

 Time with Scania.
 Their work tasks.
 Courses they have attended.
 What they want to achieve with this course.
 Will the participant be able to put this new
knowledge into practice after the course?

0.5 h Type Review of type designations of central gears,

designations hub reduction gears, rear axle housings and front
driving axle.

Go through the central gear programme for

trucks and the measures that must be taken when
renewing older gears, which can be replaced
with newer types while retaining the rear axle
housing.

1.0 h Function Go through the construction and function of the TEC 00.08.01.05-01
description, central gear. It is important that the participants TEC 00.08.01.05-02
Central gears have a thorough understanding of the parts of the
differential that rotate and those that do not when
driving straight and when cornering or when one
of the driven wheels is spinning. This is essential
for evaluating whether damage and wear are
normal or not. Explain the flow and distribution
of power in the transfer gear (both planetary gear
type and differential type if both are present on
your particular market).

If RBP832, RBP730 and RB660 are all present,
RBP832 should be given priority, as it is not as
easy to work with as the other two.
Then one of the other double gears should be
chosen, as they are similar.
If practical work has been carried out on two
double gears, it is sufficient to carry out any
steps that differ from the previously reviewed,
when working on the single gear.
If the RH832 and RH730 hub reduction gears are
both present, the RH832 should be chosen.

To provide course participants with greater

confidence in the Work descriptions and to make
them participate more actively in the training,
they can be selected to conduct parts of the
practical work.
