Introduction
Anime are Japanese animated productions, and come in all formats,
such as television series (such as Dragon Ball and Inuyasha, animated short
films, and full-length feature films such as Grave of the Fireflies, and
include computer animation creations. The word is the abbreviated
pronunciation of "animation" in Japanese. In English, the term is defined as
a style of animation originating in Japan, which often features colourful
graphics, vibrant characters and action-filled plots with fantastic or futuristic
themes.
Body proportions emulated in anime come from proportions of the human
body. Super-deformed characters feature a non-proportionally small body
compared to the head. Sometimes specific body parts, like legs, are shortened
or elongated for added emphasis. Most super deformed characters are two to
four heads tall. Comedic effects often utilize these variations.
Coloring is added to give eyes, particularly to the cornea, some depth.
The depth is accomplished by applying variable color shading. Generally, a
mixture of a light shade, the tone color, and a dark shade is used. Cultural
anthropologist Matt Thorn argues that Japanese animators and audiences do
not perceive such stylized eyes as inherently more or less foreign.
However, not all anime have large eyes. For example, some of the work
of Hayao Miyazaki and Toshiro Kawamoto are known for having realistically
proportioned eyes, as well as realistic hair colors on their characters.
Anime characters may employ a variety of predetermined facial
expressions to denote moods and thoughts. These techniques are often
different in form than their counterparts in Western animation, and they include
a fixed iconography that's used as shorthand for certain emotions and moods.

Manga
Japanese Comics
Manga are comics created in Japan, or by Japanese creators in
the Japanese language, conforming to a style developed in Japan in the late
19th century. They have a long, complex pre-history in earlier Japanese art.
In Japan, people of all ages read manga. The medium includes works in
a broad range of genres: action-adventure, romance, sports and games,
historical drama, comedy, science fiction and fantasy, mystery, suspense,
detective, horror, sexuality, and business/commerce, among others. A manga
artist (mangaka in Japanese) typically works with a few assistants in a small
studio and is associated with a creative editor from a commercial publishing
company. If a manga series is popular enough, it may be animated after or
even during its run. Sometimes manga are drawn centering on previously
existing live-action or animated films.
The term manga is a Japanese word referring both to comics
and cartooning. "Manga" as a term used outside Japan refers specifically to
comics originally published in Japan.
Manga-influenced comics, among original works, exist in other parts of
the world, particularly in Taiwan ("manhua"), South Korea ("manhwa"), and
China, notably Hong Kong ("manhua"). In France, "la nouvelle manga" has
developed as a form of bande dessinée comics drawn in styles influenced by
manga.
Naruto Bleach One Piece
Artist and Their Works
Eiichiro, born January 1, 1975
in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture) is a
Japanese manga artist, best known for his
series One Piece, which is the highest-selling
manga series of all time.
A boy named Monkey D. Luffy,
inspired by his childhood hero "Red-
Haired" Shanks, sets out on a journey to
find the legendary One Piece, to become
the new Pirate King. To accomplish this,
he must reach the end of the most
deadly and dangerous ocean: The
Grand Line. Luffy captains the Straw Hat
Pirates first through the sea of East Blue
and then through the Grand Line. He
follows the path of the deceased Pirate
King, Gold Roger, from island to island
on his way to the great treasure One
Piece. On his way his crew grows to have a swordsman, a navigator, a sniper,
a cook, a doctor, an archaeologist, a shipwright, and a musician. During the
course of the story, the crew contend with both other less moral pirate crews
and the Navy. The latter are the subordinates of the World Government, who
apparently seek justice by ending the Golden Age of Pirates. Many
background story elements involve the delicate balance of power between the
World Government and the world's most powerful pirate crews.
Masashi Kishimoto (岸本 斉史 Kishimoto
Masashi?, born 8 November 1974[1]) is a
Japanese manga artist, well known for creating
themanga series Naruto. A reader of manga ever since
a young age, Kishimoto showed a desire to write his
own manga, citing authors Akira
Toriyama and Katsuhiro Otomo as his main
inspirations. His younger twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto,
is also a manga artist and creator of the manga
series 666 Satan (O-Parts Hunter) and Blazer Drive.
During the publication of Naruto, Kishimoto got married
and became a father.[2]
Naruto (NARUTO—ナルト—
NARUTO?) is an ongoing
Japanese manga series written and
illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. The
plot tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki,
an adolescent ninja who constantly
searches for recognition and dreams
to become the Hokage, the ninja in
his village who is acknowledged as
the leader and the strongest of all.
The series is based on a one-shot
comic by Kishimoto that was
published in the August 1997 issue
of Akamaru Jump.
Naruto is one of the best-selling
manga series of all time having sold
more than 126.5 million copies in
Japan alone. Serialized in
Viz'sShonen Jump magazine, Naruto has become one of the company's best-
selling manga series. The English adaptation of the series has also appeared
in the USA Today Booklist several times and volume 7 won the Quil Award in
2006. Reviewers from the series have praised the balance between fighting
and comedy scenes, as well as the characters' personalities, but have
criticized it for using standard shōnenplot elements.
Tite Kubo
June 26, 1977 in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan
The son of a town council member in Fuchu, Aki
District, Hiroshima. He never took drawing seriously until
he was 17; after reading Dragon Ball he knew he wanted
to be a manga artist. At the age of 18 he submitted his
first concept for the series Zombiepowder but it got
rejected. Zombiepowder was rejected multiple times until
Kubo was 22, when it finally was accepted by Shonen
Jump. It did not last long; it was cancelled after four
volumes in late 2000.
His next series, Bleach, about a high school student who becomes a
shinigami and fights hollows, was not such a failure. Bleach began regular
publication in 2001. It has been running in Weekly Shonen Jump ever since.
Kurosaki Ichigo is not a regular 15 year old, because he has always had
the ability to see spirits and ghosts. One day, a female Shinigami (God of
Death) named Kuchiki Rukia appears before him, hunting for an evil spirit. But
during the confrontation, the Shinigami\'s powers are transfered to Ichigo.
Thus begins the adventures of Ichigo and Rukia and their mission to herd
Hollows (fallen spirits) as well as confronting other spiritual beings.

minds.
Anime is a truly interesting part of pop culture. It combines with manga
and over a thousand years of history and cultural development to form a
worldwide sensation. Anime travels beyond Japan to viewers everywhere,
resulting in an abundance of cultural, sociological, and economical
significance. It presents plots and characters to make you ponder, cry, learn,
sit in suspense, and sometimes laugh out loud. From Bishop Toba to Dr.
Tesuka, anime’s journey to a place in popular culture is rich. There is so much
to learn – and, for me, that learning began with a single episode of Naruto.
