WHY LEGALAZING MARIHUANA CAN HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT
AROUND THE WORLD

The World Health organization (WHO, 2017) pointed out that cannabidiol does not
appear to have abuse potential or cause harm. It is the basic component of
marijuana. Although some people believe that the legalization of weed is negative,
as far as i am concerned, marijuana should be legalized for some reasons: It can
provide job opportunities, crime could bring down significantly, and It is not a
harmful drug in comparison with alcohol and nicotine.
First off, a positive aspect of legalazing drugs is that the goverment could open up
weed ventures, which would lead to personnel demand who could produce, deliver
and sell this product to the consumers. Colorado state is a good example of this.
The Washington post (2016) claims that in 2015, 18,000 full time jobs were
generated due to the legalization of weed. Also, $2.4 billion were allocated in
economic activity. The Marijuana Business Daily (2016) argues that the industry
already employs 100,000 to 150,000 workers and nearly 90,000 are in plant-
touching companies. Moreover, the New Frontier Data (2017), states that if
cannabis industry takes off, it will have created roughly 283,422 jobs by 2020.
Therefore, taking into consideration the problems of harship and famine that exist
in many places all over the world, It is going to be a big chance for inmigrants and
helpless people to get ahead in life.

Another pivotal aspect that will occur is that if weed is legalized, the number of
crimes will dwindle significantly as black market will dissapear. The only way to
figure it out is by reflecting upon what has happened in some places where
marijuana is legal. By way of example: according to the Journal of Economic
Behavior and Organization (2018 cited by Jacobs, 2018), (the use of Recreational
drugs was possitive, since rapes diminished by between 15 and 30 percent
(between two and four occurrences per 100,000 inhabitants), and hold-ups by
between 10 and 20 percent (between 60 and 100 per 100,000 inhabitants."  the
study of the effect of medical marijuana Laws on US crime (2017, cited by
Doward, 2018) explains that “When the medical use of the drug was legal in a state
on the Mexican border, violent crime fell by 13% on average accordingly. Another
example is Washinton state where weed was legalized some years ago.
Dragone,Prarolo,Vanin and Zanella (2017) explicate that this policy caused a
significant reduction in rapes and property crimes on the Washington side of the
border in 2013–2014. Taking into account the aforementioned reasons, it is
noticeable that if marijuana were legal, it would have a tremendous impact on
citizens welfare.
Although some people state marihuana is a dangerous drug, it is not nearly as
harmful as alcohol or nicotine; Both of which cause a vast amount of deaths yearly.
According to a study carried out by The university of Colorado Thayer et al (2018)
explains that alcohol consumption with long-term changes to the structure of white
matter and gray matter in the brain. However, marijuana does not show any kind of
long effects at all. On the other hand, another research conducted by Tecniccal
University of dresden In Germany (cited by Beinger,2016), says that after
analysing 10 recreational substances "Alcohol was at the highest risk and cannabis
at the lowest risk end. For that reason, this issues would bring safety to citizens.

In sum, The possitive benefits that weed can have outweigh the negatives. Not
only could the legality of marijuana create quite a few job oportunities, but also, it
would improve the security of people in the long run, since black market could be
greatly reduced. I truly believe that in order to have a better society, people need to
be open to new ideas. If we were able to accept detrimental things such as: the
use of alcohol and nicotine. Why are not we going to agree about this new
change? Rather, if it is going to be for the sake of many people.
