Understanding Augmented Reality Basics

Augmented reality (AR) overlays computer-generated visual objects in the real world view seen through a device. AR allows users to see real-world environments combined with virtual computer-generated imagery. AR was first introduced in 1990 to aid technicians by overlaying information. There are two main types: marker-based AR which detects markers to trigger virtual objects, and markerless AR which uses location to provide relevant data. AR was created to help users understand structures easily, advance technology, introduce digital concepts, and increase brands. Development uses software like Blender, Unity, and portals like Vuforia to create AR apps for devices.

Augmented Reality is and added Reality Added.

It is a kind of visual effects produced by computer in

which computer-generated
visual objects will be added
in view of the real world that
appears in the display image.
As a result, users who see
the real world through a
computer will look like a
processing of various objects
other than the existing
reality.

Augmented Reality is
different from Virtual Reality. Virtual reality is a new environment that has nothing to do with the real
world. Instead, as described in the paragraph above, Augmented Reality displays an environment that
takes from the real world and adds to it (English: Augment, Overlay) other objects generated by the
computer.

This concept was introduced by Thomas Caudell in 1990 compilation explains using a type of aids worn
on the head of a functional electrical technician.

Types of Augmented Reality

Marker Based Augmented Reality

Marker less Augmented Reality (location based)

Location based: use the ability of a particular device to record a position in the world and then offer data
that’s relevant to the location: finding your way around a city. Remembering where you parked the car,
naming the mountain around you or a star in the sky

Why Created AR

To help user understand the structure in an easier way

For advancing the technology used on a daily basis to next level

Introduce the concept AR in the digital age

Increase brand image

AmiMap

A marker based augmented reality apps which help you to assess current location when triggered with
AR markers and show the map of your surroundings. And one can also interact with it to find the place
they may be looking for. And other application covering some aspects of augment reality

How: Sofware used, Portal used, Process, Deployment

Blender used to make 3D model

Unity implementation of augmented reality in an Android app

Android SDK – used by the unity to generate the android app

Eclipse for apk signing and adding user friendly interface

Development Portal Used

Just like [Link] we have used Vuforia Portal for the app development

One more portal recommended by vuforia name brosvision came handy to generate AR markers
