Range cell (or) Resolution cell is smallest range increment the radar is
capable of detecting. If the radar has a range resolution of 50 yards and
a total range of 60000 yards there are 60000/50=1200 range cells
Resolution is the
ability of a radar
to
resolve(distingui
sh) between two
or more targets
on the same
bearing but at
different ranges
Angular
Resolution is
the ability of the
radar system to
separate
objects at the
same range but
at slightly
different
bearings.
Transmitted power density
It is a measure
of target size as
seen by radar
the RCS of a radar
target is an effective
area that intercepts
the transmitted radar
power and then
scatters that power
isotropically back to
the radar receiver.
The aspect
angle is the
angle measured
from radar
antenna to the
target path of the
object
The
Swerling
models are
used to
describe the
statistical
properties of
the RCS of
objects with
complex
formed
surface.
The Swerling
cases I and II
applies to a
target that is
made up of
many
independent
scatterers of
roughly equal
areas like
airplanes.
Cases III and IV
approximates
an object with
one large
scattering
surface with
several other
small scattering
surfaces. This
may be the
case for ships.

The pulse
compression ratio
is a measure of the
degree to which
the pulse is
compressed.
It is defined as the
ratio of the
uncompressed
pulse width to the
compressed pulse
width, or the
product of the
pulse spectral
bandwidth B and
the uncompressed
pulse width T.
