Titanic Survival Prediction Model

The document discusses a machine learning project by team members Dhanya K and Adhithya Kiran that aims to build a predictive model to determine what sorts of passengers aboard the Titanic were more likely to survive based on attributes like name, age, gender, and socio-economic class using data from the sinking disaster which resulted in 1502 deaths out of 2224 passengers and crew aboard the ship during its maiden voyage after colliding with an iceberg in 1912 when it sank despite being considered unsinkable with not enough lifeboats for all onboard.

Titanic - Machine Learning from Disaster

Team Members :

Objective of the project

The sinking of the Titanic is one of the most infamous shipwrecks in history.
On April 15, 1912, during her maiden voyage, the widely considered
“unsinkable” RMS Titanic sank after colliding with an iceberg.
Unfortunately, there weren’t enough lifeboats for everyone onboard,
resulting in the death of 1502 out of 2224 passengers and crew.
While there was some element of luck involved in surviving, it seems some
groups of people were more likely to survive than others.
In this challenge, we are examining by building a predictive model that
answers the question: “what sorts of people were more likely to
survive?” using passenger data (ie name, age, gender, socio-economic
class, etc).
