Speech Rubric Revised

This rubric evaluates speakers on several criteria for their speech performance, including: (1) The introduction gets attention, introduces the topic clearly, and previews main points. (2) The body has clear, well-supported main points that consider different perspectives and use clear transitions. (3) The conclusion reviews the main points, brings closure, and leaves an interesting, memorable ending. Performance is also evaluated on appropriate topic choice, effective rhetorical devices, appropriate length, effective slideshow (if used), eye contact, body language, and clarity and quality of speech delivery.
