Gist of the Lesson:


This is a story of a hard-working farmer Lencho. He is expecting a good harvest this
year if it rains. The rain does come bringing brief happiness. However, a hailstorm
follows the rain destroying all his crops. Being deeply hurt, he looks toward God.
having an unshaken faith in God he writes a letter to him demanding one hundred
pesos.

Teaching-Learning Objectives:
General Objectives:
 To enable the pupils to develop the skills of reading, writing, listening and
understanding.

Specific Objectives:
 To make them understand the importance of faith.
 To make them believe that faith can move mountains.
 To develop such a faith in them to develop confidence in them.
 To encourage them to develop faith in them.

Support Material:
 Power Point Presentation
 Money Order form
 Picture of hailstorm

Pre reading activities-


 Showing a money order form ask them question to introduce the topic.

While reading activities-


Showing PPT, asking questions about uses of writing letters,
reading paragraph. Discussion on Faith in God.

Comprehension check,
(a) What kind of place a desert is?
(b) How does a rattle snake kill its prey?
(c) Which snake can survive for a year without eating?

Post reading activities-


 Oral questions based on the passage.

Recapitulation
(a) Where was Lencho’s house?

(b) What could one see from his house?

(c) Did the rainfall fulfil his expectation?

(d) Why did Lencho see the sky towards the north-east?
