Legal Studies
• Registration opens on 07/12/2020 for all students.
• A late registration fee of R2000 will apply to returning students who do not meet the
registration deadline of 06/02/2021 (submission of the fully completed registration contract
and 1st instalment paid or deposit paid).
• Please refer to the Finance section in the Student Handbook for a full explanation of the various
payment methods.
• It is recommended that your registration is completed and that the minimum payment required
is made, as soon as possible, in order to avoid any delays in the release of your timetable or
Wizebooks portal access.
• Please note that should the payment plan selected not be adhered to, we reserve the right to adjust
this to the 10 month option.
• Please refer to the Student Handbook for the full list of programme start dates.

Repeat and Phase-Out Modules
REPEAT MODULE FEES are charged where a student is required to repeat a module of an IIE
qualification in order to progress. Repeat modules will be charged at the full cost of the module
repeated. The fee amount, where applicable, is available at your chosen campus.
PHASE-OUT MODULE FEES: Students who are required to complete phase-out modules will be
charged a fee of the actual module price or R5 000 per module, whichever is the lesser.
Notes:
1. All students are required to consult the Academic Information section in the Student Handbook
to ensure that they meet the entrance requirements for their chosen qualification. Note that some
students may be required to register for developmental modules to meet the additional
entrance requirements.
2. Fees are in respect of The Independent Institute of Education’s tuition only. Academic
material and all other expenses including off-site computer hardware and data costs are for
the student’s account.
3. International students registering for the first time at The IIE’s Varsity College will be subject to an
International Student Levy of R 6 500 payable upon registration. Returning international students
will be required to pay R 5 500.
4. In most cases, Higher Certificates indicated above provide articulation only into specific
Bachelors degrees. In order to ensure that you are completing the correct Higher Certificate in
order to articulate into your chosen Bachelors degree, please consult with your student advisor for
more information.
5. Final year IIE LLB students, registered for the work integrated learning module XBLAW8419, will
be subject to a placement fee for the Clinical Legal Experience Programme.
