ABSTRACT:

The Project titled Surveillance & Modeling of a Lake for Evaluation of Significant Parameters
was allocated to us. It was of ample importance so far as Hydrology and Environmental
Engineering was considered. After going through about 17 literature reviews in the first part, we
started to analyze the different water quality parameters and their testing procedures. We also
gathered the information regarding the site, i.e Santoshpur Lake, and the concepts required for
designing the lake, lake weed control technologies and the different management strategies.

Amid the ongoing pandemic and certain restrictions, our group taking all necessary precautions
attempted to visit the lake twice during the whole tenure of this project and the results have been
embedded in this project. The main objectives of the present investigation were listed which
came out to be the study of Geomorphological Characteristics, details of Flora and Fauna and
significant parameters during Lake Surveillance. Different approaches of lake modeling and
effective management actions to protect/restore it were also attempted.
