1)
a) Solve the following systems of linear equations with elimination of the variables.

i. 𝑥 + 2𝑦 − 𝑧 = 2
2𝑥 − 3𝑦 + 𝑧 = −1
5𝑥 − 𝑦 − 2𝑧 = −3

ii. 𝑥 + 2𝑦 + 𝑧 = 12
2𝑥 − 2𝑦 − 𝑧 = −6
𝑥 + 2𝑦 − 𝑧 = 2

b) Write down the following system in matrix form. Solve it by using the LU
Factorization Method.

3𝑥1 + 4𝑥2 + 2𝑥3 = 15

5𝑥1 + 2𝑥2 + 𝑥3 = 18
2𝑥1 + 3𝑥2 + 2𝑥3 = 10

c) Consider the following system of linear equations and write down in matrix form.
Solve the system using Choleskii method.

𝑥1 + 2𝑥2 + 3𝑥3 =5
2𝑥1 + 8𝑥2 + 22𝑥3 = 6
3𝑥1 + 22𝑥2 + 82𝑥3 = −10

2)
a) For each of the following power series, determine the interval and radius of
convergence.

1
∑ (4𝑥 − 12)𝑛
