QUICK QUESTIONS HELP
====================
Quick questions provide a quick way to create your own questions and load them into
the software.
Unlike our standard ‘On The Fly’ questions, a quick question will display its text
on both your screen and your Livescreen.
A quick question can be made in seconds with no need to be online or log in.
Quick Question files can be loaded in one at a time, or alternatively, can be
bundled in a standard Windows or Mac folder. These folders, containing multiple
Quick Questions, can be dragged on to the SpeedQuizzing screen and used like a
regular Quizpack.
How to Use
----------
For standard (non multimedia) questions, always use a blank .txt file. For
music/sound questions use audio files and for picture questions use image files.
Quick Questions are stored as the file name of text files, audio files and image
files (.txt, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .mp3, .wav, .m4p, .m4a).
To open a Quick Question, drag a Quick Question and drop it anywhere on the
SpeedQuizzing screen during a round.
Formatting Quick Questions
--------------------------
Note: PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE LIMITATIONS SECTION BELOW.
When creating your own Quick Questions, use these corresponding examples and be
sure not to include any additional underscores _ within your text as these are used
to split the questions/answers/options etc.
Multiple Choice
---------------
QQ_Your Question_Your Option A_Your Option B_Your Option C_Your correct option
letter
e.g.
QQ_Which of these four words is the closest in meaning to the word, 'blatant'?
_Disgusting_Insulting_Obvious_C
Sequence (NEW)
--------
QQ_Your Question_Your Option 1_Your Option 2_Your Option 3__
The Sequence questions format is nearly the same as Multiple Choice but please use
an extra _ in place of the correct option letter. Also, you need to list the
options in the correct order. SpeedQuizzing will shuffle these when loaded into a
game.
e.g.
QQ_Starting with the largest, put these oceans in order of
size._Pacific_Atlantic_Indian_Southern_Arctic__

How to load Quick Questions into SpeedQuizzing
----------------------------------------------
Method 1. Drag and Drop Single Quick Question
Dragging a compatible Quick Question file from Windows Explorer or Mac Finder
directly onto the SpeedQuizzing software during a Keypad, Buzzin’ or Nearest Wins
round will insert that question into the round.
Method 2. Drag and Drop a Quick Question folder
Unlike the method above, the Quick Question folder method allows you to open
multiple Quick Questions as a round or as a section of questions.
Create an empty folder on your computer and name it, incorporating one of these
codes.
QQFK for a Keypad folder
QQFC for a Buzzin Classic folder
QQFA for a Buzzin Advanced folder
QQFN for a Nearest Wins folder
The code can appear anywhere in the folder name. For instance…
Fill this folder with multiple Quick Question files.
You can also number the files in a folder so that they appear in a specific order.
for example 050 QQ_What is the capital.....
Note: A single Quick Question must be dropped on the screen during a round. However
a Folder of multiple Quick Questions can either be dropped on (and added to) your
current round, or can be dropped on the Lets Play page to start a new round.
LIMITATIONS OF QUICK QUESTIONS
------------------------------
1. It is very vague across operating systems as to how many characters can be in a
filename. But as a rule of thumb, keep your questions/answers/options as short as
possible.
2. Because Quick Questions are stored as file names of computer files, you will
notice that there are limitations as to what characters you are able to include in
a Quick Question.
As a workaround SpeedQuizzing 4 has been programmed to interpret combinations of
useable characters as code for forbidden characters.
Mac (OS X)
----------
On a mac, this will hardly affect you. All characters with the exception of : are
allowed in file names, but if you need a : see conversion key below.

Windows
-------
Unfortunately Windows won’t allow you to include any of these / \ | : * ? < > " in
a file name. The conversion key below lists what characters you can type instead,
to achieve these.
