HOW TO USE THIS DIGITIZED LEARNING MODULE
Welcome to the module in Empowerment Technology. This module contains
training materials and activities for you to complete this module.
Distance students will be graded on their participation based on posts after
each class to the course blog. Generally, writing a paragraph that either poses some
questions, makes a comment on the lecture or class discussion, or otherwise
demonstrates that you have thought about the material discussed is sufficient
You are required to go through a series of learning activities in order to complete
each learning outcome of the module. Each of the learning outcomes is provided with
Modules. Follow these activities on your own and answer the self-check at the end of
each learning outcome.
Talk to your online facilitator and agree on how you will both organize the Training
of this unit. Read each through the module carefully. It is divided into sections, which
cover all the skills and knowledge you need to successfully complete this module.
Work through all the information and complete the activities in each section.
Read Modules and complete self-check. Suggested references are included to
supplement the materials provided in this module.
Most probably your facilitator will be your supervisor or manager. Your online
facilitator will support and correct you.
Your online facilitator will tell you about the important things you need consider
when you are completing activities and it is important that you listen and take
notes.
You will be given plenty of opportunity to ask questions and practice on the job.
Make sure you practice new skills during regular work shifts. This way you will
improve both your speed and memory and also your confidence.
Talk to more experienced workmates and ask for their guidance.

When you are ready, ask your online facilitator to watch you online via Zoom or
Google Meet to perform the activities outlined in this module.
Ask your online facilitator work through the activities: ask for written feedback
on your progress. Your online facilitator keeps feedback/pre-assessment reports
for this reason. When you have successfully completed each element, ask the
facilitator to mark on the reports that you are ready for assessment.

Research needs and requirements vary with each assignment, project, or paper.
Although there is no single” right” way to conduct research, certain methods and skills
can make your research efforts efficient and effective.
Research is the easiest way to use when you do your assignments it can make
your assignment done easily.
3.1 What is Internet Research?
Internet research is the practice of using Internet information, especially free
information on the World Wide Web, in research. It is: focused and purposeful, uses
internet information or internet-based resources, tends towards the immediate and
tends to access information without a purchase price. Internet research has had a
profound impact on the way ideas are formed and knowledge is created. Common
applications of Internet research include personal research on a particular subject,
students doing research for academic projects and papers, and journalists and other
writers researching stories. Research is a broad term. Here, it is used to mean
"looking something up". It includes any activity where a topic is identified, and an
effort is made to actively gather information for the purpose of furthering
understanding.
Internet Research Strength
Are searching is faster than other medium.
For example when you searching with the book in the library it takes long time in
searching about the topic.

Internet researching will save user’s physical distance.
For example you need to go to library and during find the information about topics it
will make you spend your physical things.
You can shear information with other people very quickly.
Quality of information also better than other medium.
Strength includes speed, immediacy, and a complete disregard for physical
distance.
Internet Research Weaknesses
Possibility of leak someone's personal information and it can make negative effect in
your life.
There is so many incorrect information that we trying to find
You can get many harmful objects such as advertising.
Weaknesses include unrecognized bias difficulties in verifying a writer’s
credentials (and therefore the accuracy or pertinence of the information obtained).

1) Authority
The person has the power or right to control, judge, or prohibit the actions of
others, a position that commands such a power or right.
Is it clear who is responsible for the contents of the page?
Is there a way of verifying the legitimacy of the organization, group,
company or individual?
Is there any indication of the author's qualifications for writing on a
particular topic?
Is the information from sources known to be reliable?

2) Accuracy
The ability to do something in an exact way without making a mistake, Faithful
measurement or representation of the truth; correctness; precision.
Are the sources for factual information clearly listed so they can be
verified in another source?
Is the information free of grammatical, spelling, and other typographical
errors?
3) Objectivity
The state or quality of being objective, He fact of being based on fact and not
influenced by personal belief or feelings.
Does the content appear to contain any evidence of bias?
Is there a link to a page describing the goals or purpose of the sponsoring
organization or company?
If there is any advertising on the page, is it clearly differentiated from the
informational content?
4) Currency
The state of being commonly known or accepted, or of being used in
many places.
Are there dates on the page to indicate when the page was written, when
the page was first placed on the Web, or when the page was last revised?
5) Coverage
A group or number of persons served or reached by a newspaper, radio or
television station, advertising campaign, business.
Are these topics successfully addressed, with clearly presented arguments
and adequate support to substantiate them?
Does the work update other sources, substantiate other materials you
have read, or add new information?
Is the target audience identified and appropriate for your needs?

3.3 Search Engines
A computer program that search documents especially on the World Wide Web
for specified words and provides a list of documents in which they are found. A
computer program that searches for and identifies items in a database that correspond
to keywords or characters specified by the user, used especially for finding particular
sites on the World Wide Web.
