4. Course Description
This course introduces the field of business analytics. It disseminates the knowledge to the
student about using the statistical and analytical techniques for critical decision making in
business and other domains. It introduces several concepts related to prescriptive and
predictive analytics to the students. The students would be able to these concepts manually as
well as using any computing tool.

1. To provide comprehensive knowledge of the domain of business analytics.
2. To equip the student to demonstrate excellence in analyzing a business problem and enable decision
making

1. CLO 1: To be able to describe and implement various business analytics approach to
problem solving and decision making in business.
2. CLO 2: To interpret the usage of analytics in today's business environment and other
domains, and comment critically on the appropriateness of this use of statistics.
3. CLO 3: Apply correctly a variety of statistical techniques, such as descriptive, predictive
and prescriptive analytics to solve business problems.
