Recreation is an activity that people do during their free time. We
may be bored but we can turn the things around us into something that
gives us self-enjoyment. It must be fun, enjoyable, and socially
acceptable, helping cultivate a steady balance in life. Through this
activity, the components of health-related fitness, or also called functional
fitness are being developed because it helps ensure that a person will be
able to function effectively and meet the demands and tasks of functions
that offer protection from lifestyle related conditions. The most essential
concept of it is the holistic impact to one’s life.
Self-assesses health-related fitness (HRF), barriers to physical activity
assessment participation and one’s diet. (PEH12FH-llg-i-6)
At the end of the session, the students should be able to:
1. identify the health-related fitness components in performing
recreational activities;
2. value the importance of participating into recreational activity; and
3. create a poster that describes the role of recreation in assessing
one’s participation in physical activity.
